PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

I had a total of 5 loans between 1999 and 2001 (consolidation chain loans) and managed to pay the load off in full in 2004. Thought I'd have a go at re-claiming PPI. Sent off a claim form on April 17th , and still hadn't heard anything , so decided to call Welcome Finance for an update. I was informed that my accounts are 'time barred' meaning they were all started before the Feb 2003 deadline. The advisor said I could take it to the FSO but they would likely reject my claim as well.
Do I contact the FSO ? Is this just a fob off tactic Welcome Finance use ?
The FOS cannot help you due to the year as Welcome were not regulated, you need to contact FOS and ask is it worth going after the insurer.0 -
had a letter today off loyds tsb "after considering the evidence and infomation avaliable to me, i have not found sufficient evidence to agree with your allegation that your ppi policies were mis-sold"
your complaint
1. you were told that ppi was a condition of the loans
findings
our knowledge of our sale process and documentation at the time
your sales documentation
optionality- were you made aware that the policies were optional?
"i can confirm that it has never been a requirement to take out a ppi policy in order for a loan application to be accepted"
"im also aware that the policy document clearly demonstrated to you that ppi was optional and have concluded that the advisor did not mislead you"
"i have therefore come to the coclusion that you were made aware of the optional nature of your ppi policies"
what next?
The fos, this isn't the end they are doing this with everyone now.0 -

If you settled this loan early then, as above you, would have a pro rata rebate and you would have paid back the remaining PPI in with the settlement figure.
If yours was paid in one monthly payment, then write back to Lloyds and reject the rejection and tell them this was Single Premium PPI and if they do not look at your claim again you will take this to FOS.0 -

I'm really sorry to interrupt but I'm a newby on here & need some help/advice... I WAS mis-sold PPI when I took out my 1st mortgage 14 years ago - I was told by my Mortgage Lender that unless I took out the 'optional' PPI, that I wouldn't get the mortgage!!! I used a Mortgage Broker to obtain my 1st Mortgage & 'opted' not to take the Lender's PPI but went through the Mortgage Broker. Unfortunately I have kept NO paperwork from the company that supplied the PPI & the Mortgage Broker is no longer trading!! I have written to the Mortgage Lender who cannot help any further, as I didn't have their PPI but used another company. My question is: Should I use a PPI Reclaim Company to get back what I am owed, as I have come to a 'dead end' with my own investigations...0

yes it was one monthly payment was told i could only have the loan if i took ppi with it
on the letter it says i can contact them with supporting evidence to support my claim if im unhappy and they will consider any additional info
any help as to what i can go back to them with would be great help0 -
Well hello to all the money saving experts out there. Sorry if this ends up as a reply but I am brand new to this.
Help isn’t the word; I have been looking into the whole ppi claim carry on, not thinking that I would be able or hit the criteria required. But now after reading all the blogs and talking to friends that have claimed I am ready to go. The problem I have now is that a lot of my claims could go back to 1999/2000.
So my question is (sorry if this has been asked a million times before) is this best done with a claims handler? Could I use a claims handler to process the ones over 10 years ago and then claim back myself the ones from the last 6 years?
Any advice would be great, just so i know where to start.0 -

You do need legitimate reasons for complaint.
You do need account numbers and (if older than six years) proof that you paid PPI (statements etc)
YOU DO NOT NEED someone to put a stamp on the envelope containing your complaint who then charges 30% (plus VAT) for the "service"0 -

Hi,
Sorry if this has been answered lots of times already, I have done a credit check on noodle, and found details of some old loans and mortgages but they only give part of the account numbers, so how do i go about getting more info for them, can i write to the banks/providers asking for details with only part of the account numbers etc. ThanksMake the most of your days, enjoy your life.0
