Thinking of claiming back ppi as over the years I have had credit cards HSBC, CAPITAL ONE, ARGOS CARD,CAR with AVAILABLE CAR, LOAN with SAINSBURY.
All of these are from over 10 years ago, but some paid up about 6 years ago. I got into debt with some of these and cancelled ppi myself after some time when falling behind with payments. The debts were then transferred to collection agencies. Would this affect me being able to claim? All debts were paid in full and completly cleared.:j
My other major problem is I moved house and no longer have any paper work for any of these. Not sure where to start, Been on my credit report and these are no longer showing due to the age. Also been to bank to trace d debits and hsbc said" They don't hold the copies because they are to old"
Sorry this is long but, any help would be much apprieciated as I don.t know where to start
If you know the banks, give them a ring or pop into your local branches and ask if they have any info on you.0 -

Argos Card – Letter back telling me they are dealing with it & would update me by 28th May??? Still waiting, don’t know where I go from here.Nova Retail – (DFS) Paperwork returned as “Addressee gone away” I have resent today to another address (I found the actual PPI Certificate so know I had it on this)RBS Credit Card – with PPI company – nothing back
RBS Mortgage Insurance - with PPI company – nothing back
Just to let you know, any wins you get from RBS, the claims co will want a % as they will be told by RBS that you have claims and have won.
With the FP one, is this loan settled or still running? this loan is a win ( if not from years ago ) and one telephone call to FP would have got this claim won.
The claims company will take the % of the whole PPI and not just the amount you win back if the loan is still running, it could mean that you do not get a lot back to you if you win when the claims co has had their share, don't forget that the claims co take Vat on top too.0 -
You wait, give them all the time they need as the FOS have a very long waiting time !!!!.
Thanks, I am just so impatient & I know these things take time, was just unsure as the had put a date on it.
Did you send this to DFS at Adwick and what year did you take this out?.
My Folder is at home with all paperwork, it was the address on the actual paperwork I had wich I sent it too.

This is still running, its a secured loan, taken out in 2007 for 8 years  I read nightmare stories about FP

I think I will take the bull by the horns & call the company tonight & see if they can return my stuff, they said my claim was on hold until they received all the agreeements etc.
Thanks for your answers, you are a star:T

I hope someone can help me, i feel a little overwhelmed with all this.
Basically i have sent off a letter to egg yesturday morning stating that i feel i have been mis-sold ppi on a loan i took out in september 2005.
Background information is i applied for a loan with egg for eight thousand pounds online to consolidate some debts. I then stupidly took out both an egg master and visa card. I was managing to pay the loan amount and the minimum payment on the cards intill i was on maternity leave and i phoned to request a three month payment break on my loan. THIS IS ALL I WANTED!
I was passed from one person to another intill i was told i should apply for a new loan to pay off the old and the cards combined. This meant i ended up applying for a loan of £11663.00, The payments would be £264.27 over 72 months. I remember the lady did say i would need the ppi as i would not be able to pay the repayments without it. Im certain she did not mention that the ppi would be added to the loan amount and incur interest. I was feeling harrased after being passed from pillar to post and had a four week baby demanding my attention. I was definately not left feeling that i had any real option but to take it out.
Sorry for the long story but basically i have stated that i feel this was mis-sold as i was pressured, not explained that it was single premium policy, the cost of the policy a whopping £4440.96 with interest included out weighed the cover provided. I have looked through all the paperwork i was given at the time and i have found the breakdown of the policy showing the details of the ppi. Does this mean i dont have any grounds to complain as i should of fully read them, although they still blag my head now?
Have i done the right thing putting in a claim, im always second guessing myself thats why it has taken me so long to do anything.
Ive also emailed and tried ringing halifax about missold ppi.
I also applied online to them for a credit card i ticked no i didnt want ppi, again when they sent the paper work i stated i didnt need ppi. However when i rang to activate the card i felt talked into taking it out again, too soft i know!.
They sent a letter last year stating that i may be missold as certain exclusions werent mentioned to me and given a phone line to ring. I had just had another baby and put the letter to one side and forgot about till the other day. Have i missed my chance by not ringing last year? I have tried ringing them and leaving my details to be rung back but so far no reply. What should i do, do i persue these, i really could do with the money.
Any advice appreciated0 -
Hi, just wondering, my son, who has learning difficulties, approached Lloyds tsb, with whom he had an account, and applied in person for a loan, with ppi, he was subsequently after 18months, made redundant, and when he applied for ppi insurance cover, was declined? They asked him to sent copies of letters when applying for new jobs, letter from his manager to say that he did not apply for this redundancy, and proof of times applying for jobs per week.....all of which he provided.....it was declined, and they set a minimum payment on his account of 5pds per month........
we eventually, applied to claim ppi, which was successful.....but the debt was passed to BLS collections, and, because he had started to work again, they sent an income and expenditure sheet, and he paid 60per month from his income. We have visited the bank, as this is now paid in full, to be told that there is an indicator? on his account due to this........my query is.....if they had honoured the ppi agreement due to his redundancy he would not be in this position, is there anything we can do? He recently applied to experian for his credit score and it is 796 which i believe is good.....and the bank said that he uses his account without going into his overdraft........so that is good to.....and also, how ong does this stay on his account for? Thanks........hope this makes sense........he did get the ppi back after reading this forum......many thanks0 -
Hi, I am slightly confused about the procedure in which you claim back PPI. Does the questionairre template need to be sent to the lender or the obudmen? Help!0

Hi, you send the complaint to the lender, you can fill the questionnaire in but make a copy in case this has to go to FOS.
Is it Loan or CC PPI that you are claiming for and who is the bank?.0 -
