    Hello again
I wanted some help if possible i have had 3 loan claims upheld from the bank from 1987, 1989 and 1993, (1993 loan is only paperwork i have) luckily each loan refinance the other although i had to put in separate claims for each. The banks excuse was because it was so long ago they weren't linked on the system. When I took my last loan out they offered me a credit card, which i know had PPI on, although I haven't got any paperwork, just the number, so i put in a claim for that. I received a 3 page rejection letter last month turning me down saying that PPI was suitable, policy was fit and it was optional and finally that their seller acted reasonably with the sale of PPI.
I emailed the CEO asking that this rejection be reinvestigated and today received a letter saying that they are sorry but they now cant find any proof of PPI but as compensation they will send me £100 for my distress.
Any one had any similar experience and as I don't have any further proof I feel that I am now stuck. Any suggestions please
    Thank you

I followed steps 1,2 and 3 in the process and retrieved £6500 from MBNA. They also informed Alliance & Leicester that they should be refunding me some monies as well as they acquired all their credit card operations.
I am hoping for more retrieval of my monies.
This is a fantastic service and should be put up for an award....

    Dear all,

Just wanted to thank everyone for the invaluable advice on this forum. Three weeks after starting an investigation to identify all my account numbers from various loans and credit cards I had managed to get it down to only one remaining unknown account number.

It's amazing the information that can be gathered with a bit of lateral thinking. I found copies of old cheques particuarly helpful because the account numbers were written on the back for payment references.

My last remaining unknown account information was with Black Horse. I requested the info and had received a very polite response requesting additional information as it would be archieved records and difficult to find. The last line in the letter concerned me because it said 'when you can provide us the aggreement number we will provide the information you requested'. Was that not the purpose of my request in the first place!!!

I rang Black Horse and spoke to a very pleasant lady who advised me honestly that unless I could obtain the account number another way the chance of locating the information directly from Black Horse was minimal. A trip to the bank and a check of very old direct debit accounts revealed my account details :j

I then rang Black Horse with my new found information to be told, best check with your bank because there is no such account. :(

It was only when I asked for a check to be done in the archieve records 30 seconds later miracuously the account was confirmed and yes there was ppi.

Shocking the tactics companies are employing to avoid providing information and possible reimbursement of wrongly obtained lucrative funds!!!!
  • Hi All,

Please help as i am very confused.

I have had a Barclaycard credit card since 2007 although i can't remember what month. I don't have all statements.

A while ago after hearing the miss-sold stories in the press i checked my statements and was surprised to see this cover there. I don't remember asking for it and i'm not sure it's relevant as i've been a housewife since before then.

I can't remember if i applied for the card through the internet or via a leaflet.

I used the template on the MSE site to ask for my T's & C's and i am stumped at what i received. There was a letter saying "enclosed is your Barclaycard Terms and Conditions" and then a long list of there terms and conditions in tiny print. There isn't a single mention of PPI. I assumed what i would receive back would be the actual photocopy of the agreement i signed and what exactly i agreed too. There are no dates on this either.

What do i do next if i can't get a copy of the actual agreement between myself and Barclaycard?

    With Thanks

    Sarah

Hi. Sorry if this is an obvious question. I've been letting this PPI thing go over my head as I knew I didn't have any loans, but now have started wondering if there might be a PPI element included with my Tesco Credit card? I've had it for so long I can't remember when I first took it out, so goodness knows where the original paperwork might be. Would I just ring Tesco to ask if there's a PPI element included? Or don't Tesco tend to go down the PPI route anyway? I haven't seen their name mentioned so far in the forum threads I've looked at.

    HI All

I am new to this PPI reclaim, the only reason I have went through with it is due to my OH nagging me. I was absolutely adamant we did not have PPI on anything as

    1. We are both paid when off sick etc, & have critical illness in place
    2. I am too much of a tight **** to pay it!

However, I called A N other company as the no win no fee thing attracted me as I was sure I had none & couldn’t be bothered doing it myself. I duly filled out the paperwork & sent them all account numbers for FirstPlus, RBS Credit Card & a few other store cards. They sent a letter back saying they needed paperwork & account numbers for a few, I had already provided Account numbers & what paperwork I had so just thought “Let them carry on with the ones I have provided details for”
I then came across an old folder with old CC statements, Loan paperwork etc WITH PPI!!!:eek: (some also had letters asking for the ppi to be cancelled) I have since went through the claims myself, here is what I have so far, all posted recorded delivery on 28th April.
MBNA – Claim upheld (I also found a letter cancelling this)
I paid £31.?? in total but due to interset I got a Cheque for £82.??:D
RBS Mortgage Loanguard – Letter yesterday offering us £473 but not admitting liability so we agreed to accept it
RBS Loan – Letter telling us claim is being dealt with (on the original paperwork loan insurance of £77.?? per month was included in monthly repayment) even though there was a score through saying we did not want this??:mad:
Argos Card – Letter back telling me they are dealing with it & would update me by 28th May??? Still waiting, :mad:don’t know where I go from here.
Capital One – Letter stating they have a lot of PPI Claims so they will give me an update in 8-10 weeks
Nova Retail – (DFS) Paperwork returned as “Addressee gone away” I have resent today to another address (I found the actual PPI Certificate so know I had it on this)
B & Q Store Card – Nothing back as yet
Kwik Fit Card – Nothing back as yet
First Plus – with PPI company – nothing back
RBS Credit Card – with PPI company – nothing back
RBS Mortgage Insurance - with PPI company – nothing back

I don’t know where to go from here, do I call them & ask for an update or tell them just to send back all my paperwork??? I provided all this around mid-April & have only had one update??

The Creditors I have not heard back from, is there a timeline, do I write to them again??

Sorry for the long post but I am like a woman possessed with this now & so annoyed that I was stupid enough to be duped into the ppi!!! & Into sending my stuff to a company who take 24%

    TIA for all your replies.

Thanks for your reply moneyineptitude, part of the problem is that I canta remember some of the lenders at all and I know its just over 6 years that the accounts were settlled. I have written to the 2 I can remember but there were definately quite a few more.
Well you could try Expedia etc to try and ascertain where your other loans and credit cards may have been.
Anything over six years and closed is always going to prove problematic, though.
    Good luck!

I'm really sorry to interrupt but I'm a newby on here & need some help/advice... I WAS mis-sold PPI when I took out my 1st mortgage 14 years ago - I was told by my Mortgage Lender that unless I took out the 'optional' PPI, that I wouldn't get the mortgage!!! I used a Mortgage Broker to obtain my 1st Mortgage & 'opted' not to take the Lender's PPI but went through the Mortgage Broker. Unfortunately I have kept NO paperwork from the company that supplied the PPI & the Mortgage Broker is no longer trading!! I have written to the Mortgage Lender who cannot help any further, as I didn't have their PPI but used another company. My question is: Should I use a PPI Reclaim Company to get back what I am owed, as I have come to a 'dead end' with my own investigations...
Hi, you will struggle with this I am afraid, even if you had the paperwork a claims co cannot help you due to the year you took this PPI, a claims co will get you to do the digging for info, they do nothing more than send the complaint to the bank/Broker.

The Broker is bust so you have no one to put the claim into, you could not request data ( Sar ) either, as too much time has lapsed and your info will have been destroyed by now.
    Post your question here

The guys on there know more regarding MPPI, but I think this is a no go.

    Hi,
Sorry if this has been answered lots of times already, I have done a credit check on noodle, and found details of some old loans and mortgages but they only give part of the account numbers, so how do i go about getting more info for them, can i write to the banks/providers asking for details with only part of the account numbers etc. Thanks

Contact the banks with the digits that you have and ask if they can find you.
It is quicker to go into a local branch or phone them.
