Thanks cappo. I only sent the claim in April this year, so it's less than a year !!
I spoke to the FSCS claim line , who advised me to call Welcome direct. I did and the told me the claims were time barred as the loans were taken out before 2003. They also told me I may be able to go direct to the insurance firms, but he said again it was unlikely.0 -

Just answer the questions as honestly as you can. If you are not sure about anything or can't remember that's okay.
Please make sure though when you get to section E about where it asks why you are now unhappy with the insurance that you say:-
That it is single premium PPI and that it is in fact a loan on a loan.
The PPI is paid along with the loan with interest till term end and taken as a single monthly payment.
So when you took out a new loan to consolidate the last one you only received a pro rata rebate on your PPI and the remaining cost of PPI would be paid for and added to this new loan.(now a loan within a loan within a loan)
I hope this makes sense:DStop plagiarizing
:p:p:p:p
Get you:D:D keep it up :T

How long over the 40 days have they gone and have they cashed your cheque?.
You could ring them and ask if this request is being processed, depending on the answer they give, you contact the ICO as they have not given you data you asked for.

Thanks for the reply
They received my letter on 28th March so that's 10 weeks (I gave them over 40 'working' days just in case). They haven't cashed my cheque yet but I expected at least a 'we're looking at it' reply.
I'll write to them and telephone them to let them know i'll be reporting them if they don't act promptly....fingers crossed this gets me the info. Then it's just the point of getting my money back!!0 -
I still don't know if I will be entitled to any money back? Would the bank have taken any money that may have been owed to me and deducted it from my settlement figure meaning they owe me nothing?0

As the account is closed you will have to Sar them to get any info, the request for t&c only applies to open accounts.
You only need the card/Loan number and reasons for mis sell to make a claim.0 -
My question is how long a bank should hold your information, at the time of writing the expiry of the loan would be less than five years, I get the impression I’m being fobbed off. Any advice would be helpful, FOS or CEO direction maybe?

had a letter today off loyds tsb "after considering the evidence and infomation avaliable to me, i have not found sufficient evidence to agree with your allegation that your ppi policies were mis-sold"
your complaint
1. you were told that ppi was a condition of the loans
findings
our knowledge of our sale process and documentation at the time
your sales documentation
optionality- were you made aware that the policies were optional?
"i can confirm that it has never been a requirement to take out a ppi policy in order for a loan application to be accepted"
"im also aware that the policy document clearly demonstrated to you that ppi was optional and have concluded that the advisor did not mislead you"
"i have therefore come to the coclusion that you were made aware of the optional nature of your ppi policies"
what next?0 -
Hi, has anyone had any success claiming from the above company. I'm not sure whether to try and clkaim from the Halifax as I paid this from 2002-2006, so not sure if this company was regulated by the FSA. Also I destroyed most of the paperwork in 2006 except one letter confirming my account. I paid £74 per month and it was arranged when I took out the mortgage in a meeting. I can't remember if we were pressured and felt it was a condition of the mortgage offer but I know we felt that we had to have it after it was introduced to us in the meeting.
Any feedback helpful, as I paid a lot of money, well for nothing...
Best wishes,
Steph

They know more about MPPI, you may struggle with this due to the year.0 -
