Hi
Thanks for the info, I will certainly give them a call and try that. How far back did you loans go? My initial loan was from 2003. I have managed to get the last 4 digits of my agreement number from Equifax so I am hoping that might help me!0 -
Hi
My friend at work had a mortgage with his lender but is now with another lender. He phoned the bank help line who confirmed that he indeed made a lump sum single premium insurance. He had his mortgage with bank for only 3 years before moving his mortgage. As I had been looking into claiming back my own PPI he asked would I have a look at his paperwork. In short his monthly mortgage re- payment (single payment) was for £296.00 over 300 months. this was also showing on his experian statement. The bank said they would send him a claim form. My question is this if they up hold his claim will he get the whole 300 months back? even though he only paid his mortgage for 36 months. if so this is a large sum. I have said nothing to him only that I think he may have a fair chance of a claim but have not mentioned a possible amount.
hope someone will help.

Good luck and fingers crossed for you. I'm on week 5/8 and can't wait for it all to be over:D0 -
Does a bank have to provide PPI payment details? We have requested details via Lloyds for my Mams partner who paid PPI on at least four loans. They have sent paper work out after we paid £10, but it doesnt show any PPI payments that were made, only the monthly payment in total and the letter from them says they are not legally obliged to show insurance payments. We're not sure what to do next.Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0

Hello,
I am currently in the process of a claim against n-ram for my unsecured loan.
I'm very confused on one piece of paper my unsecured loan is £11650 (which is the right amount) however on another form it shows total unsecured £18,800?!
They have said I have a valid claim and have offered £168 of that only £46 being ppi premiums paid.
The loan is over 30 yrs and I have had it for 7 so far tied in with variable rate mortgage.
I cannot find anywhere in my paperwork that stipulates ppi amount?
Anyone any ideas? Can I request a breakdown of loan?
Many thanks too much thinking has given me a headache.:embarasse0 -
It is of course possible that financial products will continue to become more expensive, I don't accept that the PPI redress is the sole cause but that it may be just one of a myriad of economic factors.
However, always beware of "newbie" posters who have the confidence to post such deliberately provocative "opinions".

Hi
I have been reading this site with great interest for the past few months & have finally been inspired to do something about FP PPI.
I took a loan out with them in Sep 2002 for £51,000 with PPI of £10,164. I cslled their PPI helpline & was told that I had settled the loan in Jan 2004 but the settelment figure was £63,327.46. The guy I spoke to told me that because I had steeled early I had paid off all of the PPI, he mentioned nothing about a rebate & the settlement figure was very high given that I had paid about £400 a month 16 months & only borrowed £51,000 .
I then said that I'd like to raise a complaint as I was told that i couldn't get the loan without the PPI & that I had a very genourous sickness package, I tried to give the guy a lot of detail however he wasn't interested in the detail & said that not wanting or needing the PPI was reason enough! I completed the complaint over the phone but also sent the PPI questionairre in which I gave full details of complaint. The guy said that they were clearing complaints quite quickly & I would get a reply in about 4 weeks. I asked if I had gone via a broker & her said yes, it was Smart quotes ltd (he couldn'y tell me if the company still existed?). I asked how this woulkd effect my complaint & he said the acknowledegement letter would detail that. This morning I received the acknowledgement letter but it mentioned nothing of broker, is this a good sign?
Also, if the complaint were upheld would someone give me a ball park figure of what I'm likely to receive.
Many thanks in advance0 -
Hi All,
I just received a letter from Lloyds TSB in relation to PPI on a credit card. I originally took the card out in 1998 and still have it. I realised recently that I was paying PPI and made a complaint explaining that I was unaware that this insurance had been added to my card.
Well my complaint has been rejected on the grounds of "Consent to cover", i.e apparently there was a tick box on the application form. I do not believe I would have ever taken this type of insurance if it had been explained to me.
Does anyone have any advice on what the next move should be?
Should I request documentary proof that I ticked the box and that this was explained to me? Also my card has changed a number of times between then and now, i.e Platinum and now a Premier card and I have never been told of the PPI or asked if I still want it?
I was going to send a letter straight back but thought I would check here first.
Any help would be appreciated,
thanks,
