Hi, I have found my agreement for my car loan set up by carcraft in 2004, the financer was GE Capital which shows a pre-ticked (computer ticked) box for 'Credit protection Ins'. Which we were told we had to have. Who do I put in a claim against (send my claim letter) to Carcraft or GE Capital (who is now santander) ??
Thanks0 -

On the agreement you have did you pay one payment each month to this loan and PPI and not a separate payment for the PPI?, if you did, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason for mis sell that you use, it does not matter if it was signed for, this was a loan on the loan paid to term end with interest, if you cancelled the PPI they would have given you a pro rata rebate of the PPI and the remaining PPI is still on the loan to term end.
If you settled this loan early then, as above you, would have a pro rata rebate and you would have paid back the remaining PPI in with the settlement figure.
Send a copy of the agreement in with the claim and use the Single Premium PPI reason for mis sell, this is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims.
The cash loan 24,983.84 with loan for loan protection insurance of 5,856.75 is 30,840.59. Monthly repayments 619.86 which includes the cash loan and the LPI over 60 repayments plus interest which equals total loan £37,191.60. So you are right it does look like my husband was paying one monthly repayment.
The loan was repaid in full. Is there a standard letter specifically for this reason for mis selling? Do we need to go into any other detail or is this sufficient?
Thanks for the help0 -

I am hearing lots of stories of people successfully claiming back ppi and it being very profitable, unfortunately i have absolutely no paper records of who i have had my loans, cards with etc and am a bit lost . . . . can i claim anything back and if so from who?0

Hello all.
Would be grateful for some advice. I had a loan with GE Money taken out in 2004 and paid in full in 2006. I contacted GE Money and they have told me I paid PPI of £3825. I did not know I had paid PPI and have never knowingly taken out insurance as I receive 6 months full sick pay from employers plus good redundancy package. GE Money have told me I have to contact the insurers they dealt with at the time to claim PPI back.
My question are GE Money liable or the insurance company and do I have a claim within the time frame 2004/2006?
Many thanks for any assitance.0 -

This certainly shows this is single premium and the most upheld of all PPI mis-sell:D

I am looking at a claim for mis sold PPI for my husband against Lloyds TSB from Oct 2006. He has the original credit agreement which clearly states that he paid PPI. This loan has now been paid off in full and in theory the bank should still have all the records as 6 years is not up yet, well not quite yet. What we don't understand, stapled to the credit agreement is a document called "Key facts about our insurance services" This document has a section saying whose products do they offer. There is a pre-ticked box indicating that they only offer a single product for the a number of insurances, which they list underneath, one of them being Loan Protector Insurance which he has on his credit agreement. In the section saying "which service will they provide him with there is another pre-ticked box saying that they will advise and make a recommendation for him after they have assessed his needs.
In the last section "stating what will you have to pay us for our services there is another pre-ticked box saying that there would be no fee but in brackets it says "you will receive a quotation which will tell you about any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy". Has anyone had a form like this or seen a form like this before? I am trying to work out whether my husband had a chance of opting out of the insurance or not. He doesn't remember very much about the original meeting and believes that he was told that he had no choice but to have the loan with PPI. A personal loan checklist was completed with a list of what has happened and what does this all mean. There is a ticked box hand written agreeing that my husband provided information to them so they could complete a Personal Summary and recommendations form. It said that he should have received a copy of these (where optional insurance is provided for the loan or other other insurance products are provided. I believes he was mis sold PPI cause it looks like that he didn't have chance to say "no" to PPI. At that time he had shortly before taking out the loan taken out a insurance policy with another Company too. Do you think we should try to see if there are more documents which we are missing or go straight into completing the questionnaire? I appreciate this is a little long but we really needed a little help from the experts, Thanks you
Hi there!
With dealing with pre filled tick boxes, I'm assuming that this is pre 2005? There would have needed to have been a verbal agreement made by your husband, they would have then printed out the document and then your husband signed the agreement binding the terms, the best thing for you to do is to complete your questionaire with as much detail as possible and send it in.0 -
