Hi,
I have had several store cards in the past from Great Universal, Index, JD Williams and seem to remember being charged something for protection on one if not all of them. Has anyone claimed against these companies? They do not have info on ppi claims on their websites. Also I am confused as to who I write to regarding ppi complaints as Index and GU seem to have disappeared??
Thanks0 -

Hi
I am looking for advice from anybody on a ppi claim i am trying to make. It is through Black Horse Ltd amd goes back to a loan i had with them from 2003 to 2007. I have written to the company twice trying to get the paperwokl of my loan as unfortunately i dont have my agreement number but they are telling me they no longer have any of my file on their database.
I then tried to get it through my bank from the direct debit payments but again they no longer have this on their file.
Is their any other options open to me?0 -
Hi,
First time i've been on here.
I was wondering if anyone's had any luck with claiming PPI on an Egg Credit Card which has now changed hands to Barclaycard. After phoning Barclaycard i managed to find out that i opened my egg credit card on 24.05.05. I cancelled ALL my PPI policies for my credit cards in and around Feb 07 after realising they wern't worthwhile. I was referred to Barclaycard Insurance Dublin, West Malling, Kent and when i telephoned them they told me that they could not find any details for me on both my Egg/Barclaycard and my original Barclaycard. Both accounts are still open. They asked me to send copies of my statements showing my PPI payments so they can look into it. I have sent all the statements for my Barclaycard this week and will await there responce. However, as Egg were online statements i don't have any statements.
Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do/who did you contact? It would be intresting to hear how others have managed.
Thank you v much0 -
Hi,
I have a question I'm hoping someone will be able to answer/help me with (apols in advance if i sound naive). My husband, who does not have the best credit score in the country ( entirely his own fault!) took out a business loan with Lloyds TSB to buy a commercial property - the loan was secured on the property - and he was told that in order to succeed with his loan application he MUST take out PPI... Someone from Lloyds TSB came one afternoon, took details and then told us that the cheapest PPI we needed was with LV= Liverpool Victoria, which we signed up to and that was that. That is, up until last week, when we started wondering whether we'd been 'done over'...so to speak. Because come to think of it, had we not been forced into taking the insurance out we certainly wouldn't have done.
Are we just being über optimistic, or is this something we should do something about...?
Any help/advice will be gratefully received0 -
I have today recieved a letter from my bank refusing to 'pay out' following my misold ppi complaint, they have enclosed signed duty of car checklist, loan agreement aswell as other documents. At the time I was 20yrs old and was told / pressurised that my taking the insurance out would guarantee me getting the loan i requested, i strongly believe that i didnt need the isurance. Is it worth forwading my complaint to ombudsman.
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks

Hi Amersall.
Thank you for responding. I have waitied for the full 8 weeks for Yorkshire Bank/Clydeside to respond to my claim for "Tailored Mortgage Protection". This was taken out in Nov 2004-2007. I was informed at the time that I needed this cover or I would not be eligible for a mortgage.
Their reply I received stated that "Due to time elapsed; we are unable to investigate this account further. If you are in possession of the original paperwork (which I am) can you arrange to send this to the above address, in order that we can re-view and investigate your complaint further". I have telephoned the number given to ascertain an email address for the gentleman who has written only to be told that "we have not heard of him and wouldn't be able to give you an email address".
The letter advises referral to FOS and so my question is should I go directly to FOS or send orginal docs to the gentleman in question??
Also, I cannot understand why he has put in his reply "time elapsed"????
Please could you help?? Thanks.0 -

I don't know why you have wasted time looking for an E-Mail address, because you need to furnish the Bank with COPIES of the original documentation and you can only do this by regular mail. So get to that photocopier and then post off any evidence that you hold.
On a related note, a "tailored" protection policy implies that it was designed for your personal circumstances. If this is the case then you may find that the Bank will still not uphold your complaint as being mis-sold.
What reasons did you give for mis-selling?0
