Hi,
I took out a few loans in 2005 through Beneficial Finance totalling £3000 , Loan was underwritten by HFC Bank. I went travelling and missed payments resulting in full debt of £8000 being transferred to Capquest debt recovery ( this was settled early 2011).
I am unsure but fairly certain PPI was attached to the loan. I was going to write to Beneficial, should i send the t&c request with £1 or go straight for the SAR letter with £10? Is Beneficial the right people to go to with this request?
Thanks for any advice0 -

Go for the Sar as this loan is closed, it helps if you have the account number but if you don't, then give as much info as you can to help them find you, Dob address etc.
Send it to Beneficial.0 -

1) Apply to experian for a credit report to get my history of loans etc
Check the DD list at your bank as any loan you had will show the bank and the account number if it is still on your DD list.
Request the Sar for £10, if you do not get the account numbers for any of these loans then just give as much info as you can so they can find you, Dob Address etc.
When you get the info back, if there is PPI and you have reasons for mis sell, then put the claim in.0 -
Hi,
I really need some advice off anyone who has gone through a PPI claim;
My boyfriend was told by his bank, Lloyds TSB to claim back PPI. He went through the chanels he was advised to do so and got a reply from his bank saying that they felt he was not mis sold it. He has only recently cancelled the payments for it as he thought he had to have it!! It was sold to him about 7 years ago.
What do we do next? Do we go through the FOS and will he get a pay out or do we go through one of these claim back companies who can do it for us?
Any help would be much appreciated! :eek:0 -
Hi all, I hope someone can offer some advise. I am realy tempted to use a company such as GB to attempt to claim back my PPI as I am not very good with following through timely tasks (I get bored easily), however, I would love the satisfaction and financial reward of completing this task myself.!
Please can anyone offer advise on the following- If I am unsuccessful with my self claim, will I have a chance to try again through a company such as GB? I don't want to mess up my chances.!
Thanks for reading.0 -
Hi,
Looking for some advice on PPI with Ford Credit.
I bought a car in 1996 (long time ago!) and took out finance with Ford Credit. I am sure I had PPI on the finance although I have no paperwork. I only have copy bank statements showing my payments.
Has anyone had any success with PPI for car finance, in particular with Ford Credit. Where should I direct my claim to?
Thanks! x0 -
You could do this, on the report there should be the last 4 digits of the account number you can use these to request the Sar.
Check the DD list at your bank as any loan you had will show the bank and the account number if it is still on your DD list.
Request the Sar for £10, if you do not get the account numbers for any of these loans then just give as much info as you can so they can find you, Dob Address etc.

hello people, have monitored this site with great interest and now feel its time to take the plunge. Looking for some help on my knockback from Bank of Scotland (customer for over twenty years). I had private medical insurance and six months full pay followed by six months half pay had i gone of sick.
Bank have said "you did not have any other appropriate means by which you could protect the payments of your credit agreement". Am i missing something or are they accurate with their assessment? Any advice would be appreciated0
