Hi all, I hope someone can offer some advise. I am realy tempted to use a company such as GB to attempt to claim back my PPI as I am not very good with following through timely tasks (I get bored easily), however, I would love the satisfaction and financial reward of completing this task myself.!
Please can anyone offer advise on the following- If I am unsuccessful with my self claim, will I have a chance to try again through a company such as GB? I don't want to mess up my chances.!

    Thanks for reading.
You can use a company by all means if the claim is rejected and then pay the company a hefty % plus Vat for a fee for doing one letter to reject.

If you get a letter of rejection, post the reasons they reject on here and we will help you with what to put, for no hefty fee plus Vat for doing the same as a claims co, they cannot do any more or get you a faster result or more money back, they can only do what you can do for free.
    The choice is yours.

hello people, have monitored this site with great interest and now feel its time to take the plunge. Looking for some help on my knockback from Bank of Scotland (customer for over twenty years). I had private medical insurance and six months full pay followed by six months half pay had i gone of sick.
Bank have said "you did not have any other appropriate means by which you could protect the payments of your credit agreement". Am i missing something or are they accurate with their assessment? Any advice would be appreciated

You had 12 months cover from work for sickness and also private medical insurance, did you have life insurance too? if you did ,then contact them and reject their reasons for rejection, reiterate the cover you had and show how you could have paid this loan back in any event and that you had no need of this PPI as you had cover elsewhere and why would you take twice the cover???.

Was this PPI included in the monthly loan payment?.

    Hi,

Looking for some advice on PPI with Ford Credit.

I bought a car in 1996 (long time ago!) and took out finance with Ford Credit. I am sure I had PPI on the finance although I have no paperwork. I only have copy bank statements showing my payments.

Has anyone had any success with PPI for car finance, in particular with Ford Credit. Where should I direct my claim to?

    Thanks! x

It is the dealer that you go to where you purchased the vehicle, you may have a problem due to the year with this one, you would have to send a Sar to the dealership and request all info they hold on you, this will cost £10 and may not get the info you need, if you think it is worth £10 to find out one way or the other, then send the Sar.

    Hi,

    I really need some advice off anyone who has gone through a PPI claim;

My boyfriend was told by his bank, Lloyds TSB to claim back PPI. He went through the chanels he was advised to do so and got a reply from his bank saying that they felt he was not mis sold it. He has only recently cancelled the payments for it as he thought he had to have it!! It was sold to him about 7 years ago.

What do we do next? Do we go through the FOS and will he get a pay out or do we go through one of these claim back companies who can do it for us?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Why use a company to send a rejection to Lloyds and if you win give a hefty % of the win plus Vat to them for doing what you can do for free??.

What were the reasons they gave for the rejection and was the PPI in with the loan payment each month or was the PPI paid separately?

It has been on the same credit card for fourteen years and they are saying they have checked the sales documents and sales notes and believe their adviser did their job to the highest possible standard.

I also had life insurance with my mortgage.

I phoned today for an update on my mortgage ppi claim as it's been 8 weeks now. I was told that a letter is due to be sent out to be but the person couldn't see what the letter says. She did say though that there were calculations on the letter. I asked what that meant and she said that their offer would be in the letter.

I'm assuming that they wouldn't be referring to calculations if they were going to turn down my claim so am assuming that my complaint has been upheld.

Does this sound that way to anyone else?
    Success so far:

Bank charges refund plus interest: over £6000 :j
Mortgage PPI refund plus interest: over £9000 :j

    Hi

I was missold PPI insurance by Barclays credit cards, Master and Visa in 1992. I recently applied to reclaim PPI and have received a letter from the credit card company stating that they agree that it was missold and that they can only pay back for 5 years going back. I used to used my credit cards a lot and always pid in full. The amount must be in tens and thousands including interest.

they are asking me to provide the statements if I want them to go back to the start. I have moved home three times and shredded my statements. basically they are getting away with it again and are trying to fob me off with a measly £1000. I am in need of advice. I have not accepted their offer but am looking forward to get some advice. I will be grateful for any advice.

    Kind regards:rotfl:

HI i am having the same problem with hsbc all you can do is fos this but like me i think you might have to accept if there's no proof there's not a lot you can do, i've fossed mine as i've said but i don't know if they'll make the bank "fess" up, as understandably I don't believe they have no proof in there archives.
