However my thinking is that in doing so I would need a full and detailed response from GE Money relative to my case, and not some generic 'go away' pro forma letter response
GE were not responsible for this PPI you send a complaint into the Double Glazing company, you will get no joy from GE as they did not sell this PPI.

When you put the complaint into the DG company, send this

We/I believe we were mis sold the ppi on the above account number and would like proof,if any to the contrary to my/our reasons for mis sell.

PUT THE WAY THE SALESMAN SOLD YOU THIS HERE.

We/I were not told that the ppi was in effect another loan that was added to the original loan and was repayable over the term with interest, or that the PPI only covered the loan for 5 years but was still on the loan to term end with interest.

In line with the FOS recommendations it is requested that the overall situation be restored as if PPI had never been included. This will entail:
A refund of the monthly payments that have actually been paid towards the overall loan in excess of those that would have been needed, if the original loan had been sold without the PPI policy.

In addition, interest at the rate of 8% simple per annum to any excess payments made from the time each payment was made to the point that xxxxxx (DG COMPANY NAME HERE). pays them back to us. We/i believe we were not given enough information on this ppi to make an informed decision. Had we/i known the full cost of this ppi we would not have taken it.

Unless you can prove without doubt that this PPI policy was fair, reasonable and suitable for my/our circumstances we/I will require you to rearrange the loan as if PPI had never been included.

    Lloyds Bacs help please
    Good evening,

Lloyds have confirmed to be me today that they have issued a bacs payment into my lloyds current account today. In respect of the PPI complaint they upheld!

Can anyone tell me when this will show in my account? I know they give the standard "5 working day" response but does anyone have anymore details? Not sure why they mentioned Bacs either when my current account is lloyds also!

    Thanks in advance
Keep checking, as this is coming from "Lloyds to Lloyds" it could be faster than the 5 days.

Thank you, they seemed certain on the phone that the payment had been sent today and confirmed that 3-4 times.. slightly cynical until it appears in my account!

    Hi,

I took out a loan in 2001 with HSBC for £14k, this was a consolidation loan for a previous one I had with HSBC for £9k, but I needed a new car for a new job, so I added £5k as this also paid off my overdraft I had, I was told I would could not get the loan unless I paid off the OD and so a new loan was born.
I took out PPI insurance as I was also told I could not get the loan without it. 2003 I lost my job, sacked, as I was a sales rep and was not performing to target (nature of the job), I tried to claim and it was not accepted. I then fell into more financial trouble. 2007 I started paying this debt off with Metropolitan Collection Agency, the collection arm of HSBC.

The question after all that story is can I make a claim for PPI?

Can you remember if you paid this loan PPI in with the loan monthly payment? if you did then this was Single Premium PPI and is in effect a loan on a loan to term end with interest, this is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, use this as a reason for the mis sell, just so you know, they could take the redress if you win, off the money that you owe them but at least this will help clear your debt, if you win then the whole PPI amount will come off the balance of the loan and thus reduce it more.

  • Hi there,

Firstly I must apologise for what I am about to ask! I know there is so much information on here about PPI etc, but my little coconut cannot cope with this and I get confused so easily! (Sorry!) :o

I've seen so many success stories about PPI and thought 'it doesn't apply to me' so have never bothered to do anything.......until now.......well possibly!

Being the foolish person that I am, I have no paperwork from previous loans that I have no idea if PPI was applied or not. So I'm in two minds whether to just scrap the idea and go 'never mind' or just say 'you gotta be in it to win it, and have a go'.

    My plan is:
    1) Apply to experian for a credit report to get my history of loans etc
    2) Write to the companies individually asking for details of the policy I had (SAR template I think?) Not sure if I have to send a cheque for £1.00 or £10.00 as the loans have come to an end
    3) Depending if they come back to me or not, complete the questionnaire to send to them to see if I can make a claim

Can anyone advise if I am going about this the right way??? Again I am so sorry to ask the obvious and I apologise if the answer is in the thread somewhere, but I am really thick when it comes to things like this.

    Thank you xx
