    Hi Paul

Did you confirm to the FOS that your earlier reclaim was successful on the older loan account?
If not re-contact them in case there's been any confusion in this.

Usually whoever set up and sold the policy on the day are the ones liable, did you write to the car dealers who you said sold this to you?
If they are still active, even if the bank no longer has anything to do with them anymore, you still pursue the dealer for this if you have not done so yet.

Is this of any help to you?;)

    Hi and welcome

Can you remember the year your hubby taken this out.

I am aware that before the FSA taken over in Jan 2005, that they were regulated by GISC prior to these, so depending how long GISC were in affect before that I think.
But........many of my accounts with them, were taken out in the mid 90's and have been successful, so if it's the case that your hubby taken out the account in the 90's. maybe you should re-write and mention the fact that you are aware they were regulated by GISC prior to the FSA.

However, if it was taken out in the 80's up to the mid 90's, I am not sure if the bank were regulated in that time but worth finding out here.

    Good luck.
Hi Thank you for the reply. It was taken out just before FSA regulation ( between 2002 and 2004 ) so I will give that a try.
    Thank You!

Can anyone advise me what I do now both the loan company and mortgage company had refused to accept my complaint. The loan company, beech finance have told me they will not allow the FOS access the information
The mortgage company said it is because they were not the original company. Where do I go from here as both were front loaded

"My SAGA continues. The mail just arrived, 2 envelopes:

No1: The return of the Certified Death Certificate borrowed from the Insurance Co. which I sent with the SECOND lot of paperwork

No 2: ALL of the paperwork I had sent earlier (including the Certified Death Certificate) which the bank told me had NOT arrived. This they return because I have not given them the number - which I was told on the telephone I did not need, if I gave them all the details I had. I suppose next I'll get all the second lot back.

Okay so now I'll have to do a SARS.

I am getting a little paranoid, why do I get different stories from different people in the same bank?"

I sent my SARS on 20th April. Have heard nothing, nor has the cheque been presented, anyone know the time scale for replies to SARS (Natwest).

I have not had the second form and letters back yet either.

    Hi,

I took out a loan in 2001 with HSBC for £14k, this was a consolidation loan for a previous one I had with HSBC for £9k, but I needed a new car for a new job, so I added £5k as this also paid off my overdraft I had, I was told I would could not get the loan unless I paid off the OD and so a new loan was born.
I took out PPI insurance as I was also told I could not get the loan without it. 2003 I lost my job, sacked, as I was a sales rep and was not performing to target (nature of the job), I tried to claim and it was not accepted. I then fell into more financial trouble. 2007 I started paying this debt off with Metropolitan Collection Agency, the collection arm of HSBC.

The question after all that story is can I make a claim for PPI?

Many thanks! Last question would a PPI from the first loan cover the other loans or would 6 independent PPI's always have been needed. Just curious.

Hi Andy a ppi policy would only cover you for the loan it was purchased with certainly from a lender. A stand alone policy from an independent might cover several loans but not from a bank selling you a loan.

They also might have been covered by the GISC as well at that time.
