    HI All,

Well its week 5 on my wait for PPI complaint to HSBC. Haven't heard anything so far... its week 3/4 on my other PPI complaints with Creation, Vanquis, Capital One and Barclaycard. Have only heard back from Barclaycard 4 times with questionnaires. If I get any contact I'll let you know.

Hello, regarding getting the terms & conditions if I've been missold ppi, when I get them, what am I looking for in them? And does anyone know what Insurance Premium Tax is, which on a loan?
IPT is tax on the PPI payment, this also applies to car insurance etc, if it is included in the loan payment over the term then the IPT has already been paid, if the PPI is paid as a separate monthly payment then this payment is subject to a rise in tax as this is paid monthly.

That is irrelevant to you if you want to make a claim for mis sell, PPI comes in a few disguises they will mostly say some form of insurance type, it is the way that it was sold that is important.

If you have CC statements or loan agreements that show PPI then if you were mis sold this you can put a claim in.
  • Hi There

Back in 2009 my wife and I purchased two settees from DFS, we took out the four year interest free finance, which was through Santander. At the time we felt that PPI was necessary as I was only in temporary work and my wife had just started a job. The sales guy didn't go into any detail apart from that it would be needed if we got made unemployed or taken sick. I think that the PPI was added to the finance, which was paid off last year as we changed banks. I do not have the original paperwork but know the number from my old bank statements. Do I have a claim and if so do I go back to DFS for the agreement or Santander. Any help would be appreciated.

    PPI Party Pooper
I have received my offer of £6430 in full and final settlement from
Co-operative Bank for a 6 consolidation loan chain from 2000 to 2006. They advise that there 2 further loans from 1996 to 2000 which they have not taken into consideration due to timescales & lack of details. I know that I can request a SAR for the information but can anyone advise if I can accept this offer first then put in a new PPI reclaim for the other 2 loans or if I accept will this jeopardise a further reclaim bearing in mind it is full and final settlement?

I'm looking into reclaiming ppi but I am unsure as to who to try to claim from. A financial consultant arranged my mortgage but told me I would be better taking out their own ppi rather than the mortgage company's. Being young and impressionable at the time, I did this. I have a letter from the mortgage company saying that they note that I 'wish to make my own insurance arrangements' and this choice is ok as long as the policy covers the required criteria. My problem is do I complain about the financial consultant and company who sold the policy or the mortgage company?
I would be very grateful for some help.
    Thanks

It is the Financial Consultant you go back to, some MPPI is not reclaimable so you should post your question here

You could accept the offer for the loans they have redressed and put that pending further information on the 2 they did not redress you will make another claim for these at a later date.

i'm after some advice, I contacted what was Additions now Very to claim back my PPI and have had a response saying my complaint has not been upheld, I know the next step is to refer it to the FOS but they have put a bit in there letter saying "Due to the rules and restrictions FOS are required to follow and as your policy was sold before 5th November 2004, it is our understanding that FOS may not be able to adjudicate on your complaint as we were not a member of a Dispute Resolution Service until this date"

I took out the policy upon opening the account on 23rd September 2003 and cancelled it on 29th February 2012.

Does anyone know if its still worth trying with the FOS or is it not wort while?
Try the FLA, they may be able to help you.

    Had our first success!

MBNA for cc PPI that husband had. He was sold the credit card on his graduation day and added the ppi even though he didn't even have a job.

So we are getting £1926.80! Will come in handy :)
