"Due to the rules and restrictions FOS are required to follow and as your policy was sold before 5th November 2004, it is our understanding that FOS may not be able to adjudicate on your complaint as we were not a member of a Dispute Resolution Service until this date"
I took out the policy upon opening the account on 23rd September 2003 and cancelled it on 29th February 2012.
Does anyone know if its still worth trying with the FOS or is it not worth while?0 -
Hi
New to the forum so thank you in advance for any advice!
I received an offer letter on 17th April for mis sold PPI from my Lloyds tsb credit card " as our final response we are offering you a payment of £4,707.83 to bring your complaint to a conclusion."
To say i am happy is an under statement, but to be honest bit reluctant to believe it until it is on my account!
The details on the letter state that to contact them only if i do not wish to accept the offer. They then state the money will be paid within 28 days to my current account (they state the details).
Question i have is
1) i have a credit card with lloyds still given that they have stated they are paying the money into the current account am i safe to assume they will not automatically pay some of it towards the balance of my CC?
2) How achievable is the 28 days target? any experience anyone, seems to be very mixed!
Any advice and to be honest reassurance would be much appreciated xx0 -
Hi All
Wonder if you could give me some advice. I took a loan out a few years ago with Northern Rock, I was told at the time that I had to take out loan protection insurance with the loan. NR's loan protection was expensive so I shopped around and found a better deal with another provider. I have paperwork from NR stating that I have a 'need' for ppi but nothing stating it is compulsory. Do I stand a good chance of being able to reclaim the ppi as it's with a 3rd party provider? I only took it out as NR said I had to have it.
Thanks in advance.0 -

Hello, regarding getting the terms & conditions if I've been missold ppi, when I get them, what am I looking for in them? And does anyone know what Insurance Premium Tax is, which on a loan?0

Just had a telephone conversation with MBNA and they have rejected my claim but are phoning me back as I think some paper work I sent is not scanned into the system (proof that I'm self employed).
Chap said he would phone me back yesterday (he finished at 5pm) or today. I can't decide when to chase - I don't want to be too early but my nerves are frazzled!0 -

The fact you got cheaper cover elsewhere will go against you too unless you have proof as I said above of NR holding back the loan until cover was in place, if this was a Mortgage then there may have been some insurance you would need to have, but not on a personal loan.0
