Hi all,
I hope I can get some help in understanding my current situation.
My wife and I have had many loans from Lloydstsb over the last 10yrs as these have always been our bank.
I called them yesterday to discuss the loans and they told me I had 4 loans in my name in the past with PPI and 2 loans in joint names with my wife with PPI.
They took lots of details from me with a very nice lady and asked why I thought I had been sold it incorrectly and I advised her we have always been told it will help the decision with the loan and also that we needed it incase we were sick at work etc. I told the lady my wife and I are both paid 6mths full pay and 6mths half pay in our jobs with local government.
She told me I will get a letter in a few days for confirmation of complaint and then it will take them 8 weeks for a decision.
Does this sound anything that they may pay out on?
Also I have just checked a couple of my mortgage agreements that are also with Lloydstsb and the say I have taken out payment protection plus. Is this the same as PPI? Thanks in advance. Tich0 -
quick question I have received a letter from HSBC saying that they will uphold my complaint on a credit card if I can prove how much they owe me as it is longer than 6 years ago and they no longer have the statements. I don't have any statements and am not sure what to do now. Also the 8 week time limit on my complaint with Barclaycard was 2nd May and they sent me a letter saying that they haven't reached a decision yet and need more time to look into it. What are the rules now?0

Contact the lender for confirmation...0 -
hi just got this letter from beech financial today. I refer to your recent complaint letter sent to citi financial regarding an allegedly mi-sold ppi policy.you purchased the ppi policy alongside a loan in july 2004. At that time we only undertook non advised insurance sales. For that reason i am rejecting your complaint. As you may or may not be aware the fsa did not begin regulation of general insurance unit 2005. prior to this we were not members of GISC,FLA or any other self regulatory body. This complaint falls outside of the remit of the financial ombudsman service and we shall not give them permission to deal with it. This is my final response Is there anything i can do??0

Hi
I am looking for advice from anybody on a ppi claim i am trying to make. It is through Black Horse Ltd amd goes back to a loan i had with them from 2003 to 2007. I have written to the company twice trying to get the paperwokl of my loan as unfortunately i dont have my agreement number but they are telling me they no longer have any of my file on their database.
I then tried to get it through my bank from the direct debit payments but again they no longer have this on their file.
Is their any other options open to me?
Send a Sar, they should be able to find the 2007 loans in the archives, it is possible they could find more.

Ask for all info they hold on you, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.
Have you tried your Credit Report? this will go back 6 years, some go back 7, if you get this and any of the loans are on there, then you can use the last 4 digits of the account number to see if they can find you.
If you do nor get the account number(s) then on the Sar give as much info as you can about yourself, Dob Address etc.0 -
Hi,
First time i've been on here.
I was wondering if anyone's had any luck with claiming PPI on an Egg Credit Card which has now changed hands to Barclaycard. After phoning Barclaycard i managed to find out that i opened my egg credit card on 24.05.05. I cancelled ALL my PPI policies for my credit cards in and around Feb 07 after realising they wern't worthwhile. I was referred to Barclaycard Insurance Dublin, West Malling, Kent and when i telephoned them they told me that they could not find any details for me on both my Egg/Barclaycard and my original Barclaycard. Both accounts are still open. They asked me to send copies of my statements showing my PPI payments so they can look into it. I have sent all the statements for my Barclaycard this week and will await there responce. However, as Egg were online statements i don't have any statements.
Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do/who did you contact? It would be intresting to hear how others have managed.
Thank you v much
You would need to Sar for the statements from EGG
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553
this will cost £10 and they have 40 days to respond, you should let Egg know you are doing this to keep the claim open pending information from the Sar.
Ask for all info they hold on you and not just statements and see what you get back.0 -
Hamzas_Mummy wrote: »Hi,
I have a question I'm hoping someone will be able to answer/help me with (apols in advance if i sound naive). My husband, who does not have the best credit score in the country ( entirely his own fault!) took out a business loan with Lloyds TSB to buy a commercial property - the loan was secured on the property - and he was told that in order to succeed with his loan application he MUST take out PPI... Someone from Lloyds TSB came one afternoon, took details and then told us that the cheapest PPI we needed was with LV= Liverpool Victoria, which we signed up to and that was that. That is, up until last week, when we started wondering whether we'd been 'done over'...so to speak. Because come to think of it, had we not been forced into taking the insurance out we certainly wouldn't have done.
Are we just being über optimistic, or is this something we should do something about...?
Any help/advice will be gratefully received
Do you have the details of the salesperson and paperwork from this info?
saying "you were told you have to take this" is hearsay and you would have to prove this, if you could make the payments to this loan if off sick or made unemployed and had life insurance that would have paid this off for death then put the claim for mis sell.
Look here for other reasons for mis sell too.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2
Unfortunately you cannot use the Single premium PPI as a reason for mis sell as this was a stand alone insurance, this is a shame as the SP PPI is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims.0 -

At the time I was 20yrs old and was told / pressurised that my taking the insurance out would guarantee me getting the loan i requested, i strongly believe that i didnt need the isurance. Is it worth forwading my complaint to ombudsman.
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks
Andrew
If it is SP PPI then write back rejecting the reasons they gave for not upholding and use the SP reason.0
