Hi
This is my first post and iv no idea if im in the right place or doing the right thing.
Iv paid a company to reclaim my ppi but i now want to do the claims myself, the company has done some work by preparing alot of letters for me to send to the several companies involved.
How can i get my deposit back from this company or have i lost my money?
In the first place they should not take money up front, how much was this when did you sign the contract and how did you get this company?.0 -
apologies posted in wrong place originally ....
after a bit of advise.... a previous mortgage i had was through a broker who is now in default.. claim currently with FSCS for income protection policy that was mis sold with this mortgage have all the paperwork etc quite straight forward just broker in default....
anyway have been getting calls from some Financial Claims Office re what they say was 7k of ppi front loaded onto this same mortgage they have the mortgage amount... dates... etc and what they say is information from the 'Board of Insurance Lenders' that is 100% proof a 7k insurance policy was sold to mortgage provider in regards to my mortgage..... is this all just waffle???
I actually contacted the mortgage provider re this a few months ago and was advised the complaint is with the no longer trading broker... however person i spoke to stated there was no ppi/mpi on the mortgage. this claims guy says thats standard response hoping i would just go away but he has proof a policy was sold re my mortgage which is why he is calling..... they operate a no win no fee blah blah blah no upfront fees of any kind .... am tempted just to let them go ahead... I have no paper work showing any ppi/mpi and no way of obtaining any as mortgage company will not play ball as broker is in default.... there are clauses in my actual mortgage paperwork that do relate to insurance, however no figures are given ??? any thoughts??On the road to financial freedom.... one MSE penny at a time....:T0 -
Why would the FSCS lie to you? - its not their money they give away.
If you want him to go away, give him your full details as follows:
Name (male) Kenneth Clarke (female) Theresa May
Address 60 High Street
Burton on Trent
Staffordshire
DE14 1JS
Tel 01283 233309
Probably best to leave the e-mail but you could use business@claimsregulation.gov.uk
That way instead of disturbing you they will pester their own regulator.0 -
Applied for ppi back from a barclaycard loan which was payed off in 2005 in November last year. Despite having the account number and the letter i received from them in 2005 which gave me the amount i needed to pay off, as I was paying it off early and which clearly stated that I was paying ppi, I received a letter at the end of december stating thay couldnt uphold my claim because I did not have the policy number?. I then checked my online statements and could actually go back 10 years and found a little more of the account number and phoned them with this information. I then received a letter from them saying they were sending away for information on 5/1/2012 and that is the last correspondence i have received. Phoned last week and they said the claim was still active but couldnt give me any other information. The lady just said if i havent heard by next week to ring back but probably just to get me off the phone. Is anyone else having similar problems and such long delays. Have had no problem with lloyds, mbna and barclays settled within the 8 week period and all upheld complaints.0

Ms-Money-Penny wrote: »I've had my claim in with Tesco's for 8 weeks now. I was told last week that it would be another 3 weeks. I received a letter yesterday informing me that it was being dealt with and how to complain to FOS regarding this.
Should i stick it out with Tesco's or go to FOS which will probably take even longer. I now there is another poster who is 14 weeks into his claim.
Any advice please.
Hi moneypenny stick with tesco the fos will take 6 months to even look at it at the moment.0 -
have just looked at how to reclaim ppi myself, and it just looks so complicated i don't know where to start? those firms that offer no-win no fee are starting to look quite good even if they do take a fee?
Has anyone had any experience with any of them, as i figure any refund is better than the none i might get if i can't get my head round the reclaiming procedure? am i being really thick?
daysie, don't do it, I used a firm to do a lot of my claims before I knew any better I was always chasing them, all I got off them were excuses and I ended up doing mine myself in the end but I still had to pay them for being slow basically, it is so easy, don't be daunted by this it's really just the questionaire.0 -
Hi, I can't remember what i had so i got a free report from experien, some of the companies I am not sure what i had with them. mixture of loans, credit cards, mail order, virgin media is included, and a mortgage.
have no idea if i have ppi on any of them, or which ones to claim on. will be a nightmare finding the paperwork (i am crap at filing). I havent said yes to ppi for a long time so no idea if any of them apply.
If you can't find details call the lenders they will sometimes help, or you can sar them, we will all help you with this daysie the guys give excellent advice on here, watch for DI's, Amersalls and Moneyeptitudes posts these are guys who have helped thousands of people.0 -
A bit of a daft question, but when you take out a loan is the PPI always 'front loaded' onto it? and if it is front loaded does this make it automatically mis sold?
Hi tony the old loans always were as it was the way they did the loans and yes according to the fsa's backdated rules this was miselling at it's ugliest but ppi is not really sold much now, it's only a matter of time before the banks bring it back repackaged into something else though.0 -
I've also just had an uphold with MBNA - £2400!
Got in from work to find a letter from MBNA, expected it to be an acknowledgment of the complaint but it was a letter informing of the uphold, and I will get the cheque within 28 days!
This was from a 2008 online application
