Hi, I can't remember what i had so i got a free report from experien, some of the companies I am not sure what i had with them. mixture of loans, credit cards, mail order, virgin media is included, and a mortgage.
have no idea if i have ppi on any of them, or which ones to claim on. will be a nightmare finding the paperwork (i am crap at filing). I havent said yes to ppi for a long time so no idea if any of them apply.

:If you are not sure if PPI will be on there then I would send a Sar to the loan companies, this will cost you £10 per company, but if you had a CC with that company then a Sar would get you that information too.
Start with these and see what you get back.

You can use the 4 digits next to the account on your credit report to put on the Sar, ask for ALL info they hold on you and not any specific loan or card.

A bit of a daft question, but when you take out a loan is the PPI always 'front loaded' onto it? and if it is front loaded does this make it automatically mis sold?

Most generally are, on the agreement it will show the loan amount and interest and the PPI amount and interest with one monthly payment, odd occasions the PPI is paid as a separate payment to the loan payment and can be cancelled at any point with no penalty, the front loaded PPI if cancelled would have the loan reset and may get you an higher Apr and term and after the rebate of PPI they give you for cancelling, the remaining PPI is on the reset loan.

This is why it is the most upheld of all PPI mis sells.

    Hello,

I'm new to the MSE forums so apologies if I break any rules or etiquette unknowingly! Just looking for some advice - my husband knows he has had 3 credit card loans active in the last 6 years (NatWest, Egg and Halifax). They were closed and paid off about 3-4 years ago. We've tried looking on his credit report for details of these cards but there is no records of them (despite us entering his full 6 year address history when we applied for the report). He no longer has any paperwork so doesn't know his old account numbers. Is there any point in applying for a breakdown of his accounts (including the insurance) without an account number? I noticed on the template letter to do this there is a place to include your account number.

Any help or advice gratefully recieved!

Is it possible these accounts were closed previous to the Credit report? it seems odd they are not showing.

You can still fill the Sar in, just give as much info as you can, DOB Address etc, this will help them to find the accounts.

  • MBNA and Tesco are dragging their heels  Complaing as FSO forms direct to the banks and delivered on the 8th March, letter from MBNA to say they reply within 28 days, then a second letter it now will be the 3rd May. Tesco only send a acknowledgment and nothing since. What would my next steps be once the 8 weeks are over please?

    Hi there
After 8 weeks have passed, the normal procedures is that you can complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), but please be aware the FOS are also overloaded and can still take a some time, but they are working as quickly as possible to get through. You can of course complain to them now if you want to though, or otherwise try to find out who the Chief Executive officer (CEO) is if the business and contact/email/write to them, tell them your not happy that your still waiting well passed the given timescales. (this may hurry them a long a bit), fingers crossed.

Or contact your local MP who should be more than willing to write to them on your behalf, to chase this up.

    Good luck.;)

    Hello there

It can vary from one business to another of how soon they will send you a letter to acknowledge your complaint, this can take anytime from 5 days, often to 2 weeks, sometimes longer, 3 weeks.
There is no harm in just making sure your complaints are registered with them, you could ring them to ask them to confirm, if you posted by signed for recorded delivery, then confirm the ref numbers to them of the royal mail receipt as well.

The Royal mail website should confirm delivery, if you used signed for recorded delivery.

They have 8 weeks to give a decision from when they receive your complaint.

Hope you hear something soon, fingers crossed.:)
