If the loans are closed you get the whole PPI amount back less any rebates plus 8%.
If a loan is still running, they take the whole PPI off the loan balance, your monthly payment goes down by the PPI monthly amount and you get the PPI that monthly payment that you have paid to date back to you with the 8%.
The 8% is taxable if you are a taxpayer, the bank may take this tax off before they send the redress to you, if they do not, then you have to contact HMRC.

They will give you full redress, when you get the calculations from them if you post them on here someone will tell you if this is correct

Thanks for the input Amersall, i will post when i find out how much they offer, thanks again, and well done in all your help you are giving people on this forum :T

  • Hi taperjeangirl,

I have currently got 4 complaints with Blackhorse.
Please could I ask the reasons you gave for mis-sell.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Dolphingazer, the reasons for my misselling was due to them being frontloaded ppi's and that i was told the ppi was compulsory for me to get them.

    Thanks for your reply:)

I have just taken on a claims managemant company to recover any PPI that I may have been misold in the past. The company being Consumer Money Matters and their sister company Key Financial Claims. My husband and I had an appointment with one of their agents who I am going to call 'M', who spent about 3 hours in our home going through any documents we had regarding past loans, credit cards etc and then went into his sales pich for wills and better pension deals. He guaranteed there was no upfront fees and gave us a realistic timeline of upto 16 weeks to investigate and complete any payment recovery. We were eager to allow 'M' to go ahead and work on our behalf, therefore signed any paper he put in front of us and off he went. After 'M' left I came onto the MSE site just to try and get some info and read some reviews and I immediatly went into a panic and convinced myself we had been conned after reading all of the negative posts regarding both of the named companys. I called my 24 hr banking to instruct them to make no payments to this company having read the same 'no admin fee' was asked of other people only to find when they checked their bank statment money had been requested from the company and in some cases as much as £280. At 11pm that night I called 'M' to advise him of this and he assured me no upfront payment would be asked for and he could detect I was feeling unsure of the situation so he would return tomorrow to try and put my mind at rest. My thoughts at this point were I will probably never see him again. The following day I spent 8 hours online checking out the companys with the Ministry of Justice checking all reviews and ashamedly checking out 'M' himself. When and if he came back tonight my mind was made up I wanted to cancel everythying and the most worrying thing was that he had my pension details. He did return and after listening to my concerns he explained to upsell me other services his company provide is part of his job and he gave me back all the paper I had signed and was willing to destroy them and start a fresh, which we duly did. We are now only asking Consumer Money Matters to recover any misold PPI.

I myself work in customer relations with a very large company and know my company are 100% commited to our customers satisfaction. It would be an ideal world if we could please all of the people all of the time, things do go wrong and this is when the customer makes the time to warn others of their experience and post negative reviews online. Its the society we live in. Yet we very rarely take the time to post when we are happy with the service as we take this for granted. Because of my experience with customers I am now willing to give 'M' and his company the benefit of the doubt. As I see it, if I am due any payment, they can do the leg work and I will be happy to pay them their percentage for the job they have done. I am asking you to join me on my customer journey with CMM and KFC. I will submit posts on this site regarding any correspondence I recieve and my experience untill the end of the process whatever the outcome. My faith was restored back into the companys and my choice to go ahead was decided by the politness and understanding of 'M', so wish me luck and watch this space.

If that's not a good enough reason I don't know what is.

Hi positive what a shame it's so easy to do yourself, I have used a cmc in the past for several of my first reclaims they were very slow and i'm still waiting on recovery on my first claim 3 years down the road, good luck but we would not recommend people go down this route. In all fairness some cmc's are better and cheaper than others but it really is only the cost of a postage stamp.

    Hi

Had a store card with GE money back in 2002. Now taken over by Santander. Wrote to reclaim PPI. Got rejected, told I could not prove it. Wrote to FLA. They wrote to Sandander, no joy. Wrote to FOS. They cannot follow it up with Santander as it was prior to 2005. They have written to insurers on my behalf to see if they will accept responsibility. Has anyone been successful with insurers?

    Hello there

The FOS have suggested this avenue to many who have been in the same position as yourself here, and they will check what liabilities the insurer/underwriter also had when the policy was sold to you, if they are found to have been involved, then the FOS will ask them to compensate you.

    Good luck.;)
