PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi
Had a store card with GE money back in 2002. Now taken over by Santander. Wrote to reclaim PPI. Got rejected, told I could not prove it. Wrote to FLA. They wrote to Sandander, no joy. Wrote to FOS. They cannot follow it up with Santander as it was prior to 2005. They have written to insurers on my behalf to see if they will accept responsibility. Has anyone been successful with insurers?0 -

Hope that helps.
How's it going mark, have you got your money yet mate.0 -
Sorry to double post, but this seems to have gotten lost in the crush:
Hi. I'm new, here. I've got a potential issue with my PPI. I'm not sure if it's been covered before. I've had a scroll through some of the forums, but there's so much, I got a bit overwhelmed.
I moved to England in January 2007 and applied for a credit card that summer. During the meeting to set this up, the guy in the bank (Lloyds, if it matters) told me that PPI was optional. He then told me that since I had no credit history in the UK (or elsewhere, as I was living with my parents 'til I moved), that if I didn't accept the PPI, my application for the credit card would probably be declined. I'm not very savvy with financial dealings, so I agreed.
The problem is that I have none of this in writing, so it's my word against theirs. Is it worth my while even applying to get a refund?0 -

Sorry to hear about this snowy, many people to my knowledge have been successful going down this route including our Di.0 -

Hey,
This is my first time on forum, but i have a possibly stupid query i thought i'd put out there before i investigate further.
I've had many loans from the age of 18-25 (i'm now 28) but they are all paid off and i no longer have any record of them.
Therefore i'm not sure if i paid ppi or not.
My query is... is there a record somewhere of what loans you've had over the years and whether or not youpaid ppi...
Appreciate any feedback whatsoever.

Do look for other reasons too, if possible:
