  • My partner had a Trust deed (scotish equivalent of an IVA) and the trustee set about claiming PPI. They instructed a company to look at the claims. He was not told that this would cost him. The PPI company have taken around £6000 in fees. Obviously if you are already struggling to pay back debt this is a massive amount. Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done about this?

This site was mentioned on this forum a couple of days ago by a poster who has used this site, I am not fully up to date with this myself as I have not used them.

If you are worried, and rightly so if they are asking for card details, then go on experian, sign up for the 30 day free trial and then cancel within the 30 days, they ask for card details too but if you cancel in the time frame then they do not take the monthly fee, failing that you could just pay the £2 for your credit report.

Hopefully the poster who mentioned noddle may see this post and maybe put your mind at rest.

Thanks amersall and moneyineptitude for your replies,

I can remember seeing Martin Lewis saying never to give out your long number on a credit/debit card as it is almost impossible to cancel future transactions if your details are taken in this way.

This isn't a real E-Mail address for the CEO, it just goes to the same office as normal customer service enquiries and complaints.
These bogus E-Mail addresses are used by all big companies, just as regular letters addressed to the chief executive are opened by someone far lower down the chain of command.
So, it's really no better (or worse) than sending your concerns to the Bank's general address.

Thanks Amersall, So what they have done setting us up with a single PPI is not good then? I assume when my wife calls them and she tells them she wants to make a complaint about the single PPi they will understand why she is complaining?
