Jesus thanks for the info, may I ask what does auto upholding mean? My wife nervous person she is likely to do the questionare rather than speak to someone we will still have time do you think? Sorry for all the questions.
The Single Premium is the way to go, just to let you know Halifax are auto upholding at the moment so hurry up
Halifax are paying out redress to clear the back log of claims, up to yesterday this was the case, the phone call is easy, just give the loan number and reason for mis sell, if your wife calls she can give permission for them to speak to you and do the claim, but trust me, it is easy to do and nothing to be worried about, I find the questionnaire " too much information"
they need the ins and outs of a ducks behind, phoning is easy:D
I did all my claims with a letter in my own handwriting, I hate the questionnaire.0 -
I received a mobile text quoting:
"Records passed to us show you're entitled to a refund approx £2500 in compensation from mis-selling of PPI on your credit card or loan" (From: No company name etc, just a mobile number to text back for more info)
I didn't realise I had ever taken out PPI - If I did, it was over 7 years ago and I havent a clue where it would come from, or whether it's from single or multiple sources). I've had numerous loans over the years, but hold no details now. I also took out all the mortgage add-ons in 2000 through a broker and cancelled most after a time, but I believe this was before any regulation so I wouldn't be able to claim back anyway.
Firstly, where would I start to track the source of this PPI
Second, if the Claims Handlers have access to our PPI details, how come we dont have access to check?
Thanks0 -
Hi all, i spoke to Blackhorse today as 8 weeks is now up and they said they are refunding in full for my 2 loans and a letter has been sent out today. I was just being impatient wondering if anyone roughly knows how much i should expect, also so that i know what they offer me is enough. Loan 1 was in april 2002 for 4000 with ppi of 982 with interest, frontloaded onto the loan, loan 2 was taken in aug 2003, paying off the other and i recieved 271.00 interest rebate. this loan was over 60 months 7000 and the ppi was 2500 with interest. Any idea of what i may receive?
thanks guysSuccess so far:- Bank charges-
Lloyds TSB : refund £945.00
Halifax : refund £1400.00
for my mum-Lloyds TSB : £7400.00:beer:

You do the Sar, ask for all info they hold on you, put as much info about you, DOB, Address Etc to help them find your accounts, enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.
If these loans or cards were closed within the last 6 years, then go on Noddle.co.uk this will give you a free credit report, use the last 4 digits on the file next to the loan/Credit card.0 -

If the loans are closed you get the whole PPI amount back less any rebates plus 8%.
If a loan is still running, they take the whole PPI off the loan balance, your monthly payment goes down by the PPI monthly amount and you get the PPI that monthly payment that you have paid to date back to you with the 8%.
The 8% is taxable if you are a taxpayer, the bank may take this tax off before they send the redress to you, if they do not, then you have to contact HMRC.
They will give you full redress, when you get the calculations from them if you post them on here someone will tell you if this is correct0 -

If you use a claims handler, you chase the account information and they send the claim in, they then take a hefty % plus Vat of any redress the bank offers, money for old rope
If you know any banks that you had loans with, you need to send a Sar,one to each bank, ask for all info they hold on you and give as much info as you can about yourself, enclose £10 ( for each bank)and give them 40 days to respond, or, go on noddle.co.uk and get a free credit report this will show all loans and CC for the past 6 maybe 7 years, any finance you had will be there and the last 4 digits of the account number that you can use for the Sar.

you have several options the first is you could send for a free trial credit report which would go back 6 years or you can sar the banks concerned at £10.00 a time it can be a bit pricey though if you have loans with lots of different lenders, you can just ask the lenders whether they will be honest with you i don't know.0 -
Claims handlers do not have access to any of your info, this is a ploy to get your money out of you, steer well clear, do not answer the text as they will know that this is a live number and you will be inundated with more texts.

Evening All
I really want to get going on this but need some advise please :-)
I have had plenty of credit cards in the past, but, when i moved house, i threw away all my statements! :-( All my debts were passed to debt collection agencies, and then I got my act together and got one company to manage the payments (moneysolve)
I'm pretty sure I would have been paying PPI, but I don't have any account numbers! :-( How do I find out? I have an experien thing, which lists all the agencies i borrowed money from, but no account numbers. Nightmare! Anyone got any ideas?
Any help would be greatly recieved!
