Hi all, I'm seriously tempted to use a PPI claim company but reading this forum does make me want to do it myself, if I can shed some light would be grateful of any assistance.

Loan taken out with Halifax August 2005' unsecured loan.

Amount of credit (cash loan) £14,740

Amount of credit (insurance loan) £4,083.26

Total amount of credit (the total loan) £18,823.26

Duration of the agreement 86 months

Total amount you pay for the cash loan £21,003.36

Total amount you pay for the insurance loan £5,818.68

Total amount you pay for the total loan £26,822.04

Those figures are exactly as written on my wife's paperwork.

So where do I go from here? I had a quick look at the templates, is my wife legible for a claim? Her only basis was she was told for that amount of money and also being unsecured it was very doubtful she would get the loan without insurance!!!

If she could make a claim what sort of figure is she looking at?

Your help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you fit any of the reasons in Martins hoe to guide then its worth claiming. Any third party company wont do anything for you they will simply get you to fill in all the paperwork and then send it off on your behalf - they literally do nothing other than act as a postman. For that a lot of them are charging 25% of your cash plus 20%VAT. Thats very expensive postage in my book! If you follow martins guide you'll be fine. Hope someone who can guide you properly pops on soon :D
Why do Bee's have sticky hair??? Because they use Honeycomb... :rotfl:

What do you call a bloke by the door??? Matt :rotfl:

Hi pharry you should do alright you have your reason for claiming misold namely that they told you that you needed the insurance don't know what figure you'd be looking at but it's worth a shot and I assume that your loans were front loaded this is also a big no no and is a reason for a win on it's own.

Hi pharry as the guys say please do not use a claims management company, they are slow and you can do it all yourself and keep the money.

This is happening to me too. Santander say I cannot prove it was misold. Went to FLA, they had no luck. Complained to FOS. They have written to the underwriter of the insurance. 7 weeks left to the deadline. All because it was a store card and ppi taken out in 2002. Has anyone been paid by the insurers?

I orignally posted this under the wrong thread so apologies if you have already read it:-

    Advice FOSand Goldfish/Barclaycard

I took out a goldfish credit card when I was 26 which was filled out by myselfafter being prompted by the sales person on what to tick etc etc.

I still have the card and cancelled the PPI for this last April 2011 after thanrealising I was paying this out, I lived at home with my parents and also hadsick benefits from my work as well as stat redundancy.

I phones Barclays about this and they told me they would be sending out aquestionnaire, I never received this and then got a letter from them sayingthey were not upholding my complaint and that was their final response.

As you can imagine I wasnt best pleased, I then sent this with the completedquestionnaire to FOS and stating they hadn't even got the questionnaire beforedeciding they were not upholding my complaint in Oct 11.

The FOS replied saying that they would need time to look into this and a weekbefore Xmas was told they needed another 3 months.

I then received a letter from then 2 days before end March saying that theywould need another six months and that it could take upto a year to get aresponse which would be from Dec 11.

Firstly, has anyone had a successful application against Goldfish nowBarclaycard?

    2. Why is the FOS saying Dec 11 when they acknowledged receipt of complaint inOct 11?

    3. Has anyone had a complaint upheld by the FOS and how long did it take?

Many Thanks and Good Luck to everyone
