Apparently it depends what you asked for... I've seen a few posts saying to make sure that you ask for a copy of everything to do with your account... Hope someone more useful can post soon and help you out
Neets
I used the SAR template that I got from this website, on checking it point number 2 requests: "a complete list of all trasactions OR statements relating to all of my loan accounts with your organisation"
I didnt notice at the time that this said 'or' in it so I take it they have chosen to send me the breakdown without the official statements.
If I had of received the statement would it have said PPI seperate from the Interest amount?
I thought they probably had it built in as my interest always seemed extremley high and didnt believe it was only interest. e.g for every £90 i paid, £60-70 of that was interest.
I stated out with a Capital One Platinum card with APR 7.6% and I know over time they increased this %, but it was still way above what I thought it should have been.:mad:0 -
I orignally posted this under the wrong thread so apologies if you have already read it:-
Advice FOSand Goldfish/Barclaycard
I took out a goldfish credit card when I was 26 which was filled out by myselfafter being prompted by the sales person on what to tick etc etc.
I still have the card and cancelled the PPI for this last April 2011 after thanrealising I was paying this out, I lived at home with my parents and also hadsick benefits from my work as well as stat redundancy.
I phones Barclays about this and they told me they would be sending out aquestionnaire, I never received this and then got a letter from them sayingthey were not upholding my complaint and that was their final response.
As you can imagine I wasnt best pleased, I then sent this with the completedquestionnaire to FOS and stating they hadn't even got the questionnaire beforedeciding they were not upholding my complaint in Oct 11.
The FOS replied saying that they would need time to look into this and a weekbefore Xmas was told they needed another 3 months.
I then received a letter from then 2 days before end March saying that theywould need another six months and that it could take upto a year to get aresponse which would be from Dec 11.
Firstly, has anyone had a successful application against Goldfish nowBarclaycard?
2. Why is the FOS saying Dec 11 when they acknowledged receipt of complaint inOct 11?
3. Has anyone had a complaint upheld by the FOS and how long did it take?
Many Thanks and Good Luck to everyone
Hi fraz this is just another one of the bull excuses that barclays come out with and they have many, i have a morgan stanley card and barclays after upholding my complaint then rejected it again so back to the fos, this firm is a joke, stick with the fos they'll sort it out for you, barclays are rejecting everything now credit card wise. And the fos are taking up to a year now so be patient i've had the same and i've fast tracked mine.0 -
H thanks to all who replied, so what letter am I starting with to send to the Halifax? Sorry if I am being stupid, I have downloaded something but it doesnt look in a letter format. Thanks0

Hi
I'm currently reclaiming PPI from LTSB and according to a communication they made to FOS, they have confirmed I will receive my calculation soon (of course I won't hold my breath though).
Has anyone experienced having General Insurance slapped on in addition to PPI - i.e. effectively paying two lots of insurance on the one loan? It wasn't until I went through my accounts and I noticed I was paying the two. I didn't make a separate claim for each - should I just dispute the calculations if they don't include them both or will I need to make a separate claim for the Gen Ins?
Thanks for your help
What did the General Insurance cover you for? I would contact the bank and ask If it was the same cover that you had for PPI then make the claim.0 -
Hi all, I'm seriously tempted to use a PPI claim company but reading this forum does make me want to do it myself, if I can shed some light would be grateful of any assistance.
Loan taken out with Halifax August 2005' unsecured loan.
Amount of credit (cash loan) £14,740
Amount of credit (insurance loan) £4,083.26
Total amount of credit (the total loan) £18,823.26
Duration of the agreement 86 months
Total amount you pay for the cash loan £21,003.36
Total amount you pay for the insurance loan £5,818.68
Total amount you pay for the total loan £26,822.04
Those figures are exactly as written on my wife's paperwork.
So where do I go from here? I had a quick look at the templates, is my wife legible for a claim? Her only basis was she was told for that amount of money and also being unsecured it was very doubtful she would get the loan without insurance!!!
If she could make a claim what sort of figure is she looking at?
Your help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
This PPI was Single Premium, the PPI is put on at the start of the loan and paid back over the term with Interest, this is the reason you use for the mis sell claim.
Halifax do these over the phone, ring them and get the complaint In asap.

To help you with the redress we need to know if the loan is closed, did it go to term end or was it settled early, this all affects the redress you may get.0 -

Hi pharry you don't have to send a letter put a fos reclaim questionairre in see link below you can accompany it with a letter if you wish but the questionairre is what the lenders are going by now, remember to keep copies and send by recorded delivery.

Lovely thanks amersall thats great help, The loan is still going and finishes in September this year. So I should get my wife to call them and say she wants to complain about the Insurance policy because she was told the likely hood of the unsecured loan being granted without the policy is slim plus she was paying a single premium which then meant interest was paid over the term? Does that sounds good?0

You can mention what was said to your wife, but this is "hearsay" and your wife would have to prove this.
The Single Premium is the way to go, just to let you know Halifax are auto upholding at the moment so hurry up:D
As the loan is still running, and you win redress, the whole PPI amount will be taken off the loan balance ( looks like this may clear the loan and some??) you will get any surplus money to you and the PPI monthly payments that you made from start of loan to the date they pay the redress, you will also get the statutory 8%, this 8% is taxable if your wife is a taxpayer, Halifax may take the tax off before they pay the 8% if they don't then she needs to contact HMRC.
