Thanks Di & Cappo for the confidence boost. I'll definately post the outcome when received for the benefit of everyone else. I don't think I would have bothered if it hadn't been for this thread.

Probably "maintenance". I wouldn't be surprised if the site has been down completely earlier.
I'm amazed you still use "E-Mail" reminders, this forum is probably one of the most busy and fast moving I've ever been on. Whenever I'm on it's a cert there will be new posts within minutes!
  • We have just entered in to week 8 of halifaxs investigation into my claim they really do take it to the wire don't they. Does anybody know if when a claim is upheld whether halifax pay direct into halifax bank or pay via cheque? Not like im massively confident. I just hope the end is near this past month i have been getting bombardied with phone calls from ppi company wanting a cut of "MY hard earned cash" as they put it.

They'll pay it into your current account if you are still a customer.

(and yes, they do take it to the "wire", and beyond....)

  • Hi before going down the road of sending letters to request T&C & policy I have contacted the credit card and mortgage companies direct to ask if we have PPI. Can I be confident that they will give me an honest answer and to believe them if they say no? We are in quite a lot of debt with various credit cards and loans, we are currently on agreed repayments with frozen interest. I am a little worried that if we contact the companies this may impact on their agreement they have accepted from us.

Can they go beyond the 8 weeks on making a decision, is says in the acknowledgement letter 'in any case no longer than 8 weeks'. I just want it to be over is there no penalty for banks taking too long to reach a decision?
