Hi,
This is my first post to this site and I am wanting some help please. I am in the process of successfully reclaiming my husbands misclaimed ppi on credit card and loan, but what I want help with is;
We took out our mortgage with the help of a financial advisor 12 years ago who advised us to get payment protection along side our mortgage. Our mortgage is with nationwide but ppi was with a company called Wessex who do I claim against for miselling as I am a public section worker and would not need it ?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Hi and welcome
You need to pursue the broker, because Wessex are normally just required for if you need to make a claim for example, sickness/unemployment etc.
The one's who set this up are the ones liable for the mis selling, so you pursue them. (Broker).
As long as you have your account numbers and of course you have your reasons, you can continue to make a reclaim, below are the links to the reclaim questionnaires, send as stated above once completed and remember to keep copies too.
They should acknowledge your complaint within a week or 2 and they have 8 weeks as from when they received your complaints to send a final decision.
The best of luck on your reclaiming, please keep us posted.

I think I have put enough information on the questionnaire, just a few sentences stating the facts.
I would of received Statutory sick pay, but have health insurance. Also how I was told that I wouldn't be able to continue my car purchase without taking out the PPI.
Can someone confirm the address I need to send it to please, is it...

Thank-you in advance.
Great website, wouldn't be any the wiser if it wasn't for this site. :T
Add to the questionnaire that this PPI was front loaded, this is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, this PPI was put on to the loan and you paid this back to term end with interest.0 -
Hi I have a credit card with Capital One since 2009 and just recently I've noticed that I have PPI. The only way I was informed was through the post when I received the information with my card. It mentions,
'As a Capital One customer many of the things you buy are now covered against loss, damage or theft for 100 days after purchase with this free insurance.'
I just wanted to make sure am I entitled to make a claim as I'm very confused in what to do.
Thank you0 -

It is free Insurance, you are not paying this, if you have PPI this will show on all statements as a separate amount being taken.0 -
Hi guys,
hopefully you can help and shed some light on this...
I took out a loan of £2950.00 Apr 29.8% (silly choice at the time) for 36 mths.
The repayments were £151.69 a month to pay back £ 5460.84 all together.
However, when I looked at reclaiming PPI and couldn't find anywhere on the info if they charged for it, I looked at an interest-repayment calcuator. When I typed in there the loan amount, the APR and the length it comes up with a monthly payment of £124.91 and a total of £4496.76.
So my question is if the company charged me for PPI to come up with that amount or if they just mis-calcuated it ?
Thanks guys !0 -

As this is a loan, on the agreement it will show the PPI as a single amount and the interest on that, if the agreement does not show PPI then it is not there.0 -

Hello there
So sorry we were not here any earlier.
Welcome Finance are now being dealt with by the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS) as the business are in default, so yours should be ok to be dealt with by them as well, because they were regulated at the time it was taken out.
The FSCS like the FOS are only able to take on cases if the business was regulated as from 14th Jan 2005 FSA.
What I would do now is contact the FSCS, they will arrange to send you a claim form in the post. (Please be aware, this may take 2 maybe 3 weeks, because they tend to send out in batches).
Enclose copies of the agreement and/or any paperwork you have, so if your unable to provide the broker/WF paperwork, the lender's paperwork will be also sufficient, as they will be aware of the relationhip from the broker to the lender.
More details below and contact details, good luck.
http://www.fscs.org.uk/what-we-cover/questions-and-answers/qas-for-welcome-financial-hn0qripj/#Why_has_the_firm_been_declared_in_default_
http://www.fscs.org.uk/contact-us/
I would also like to add, that I assume this ppi was front loaded onto the loan, as one big monthly payment with interest, the FSCS uphold many cases in this situation, because they are poor policies basically only protecting you for about 5 of those years. And you will still be paying for the PPI for the life of the loan.
So if this applies to you, do also apply this to your complaint.
I phoned up the number on the fscs site, and was told I needed to contact ACF (Approved Car Finance) ((As they are the broker, with Welcome financing it?)) which I have done. They have now logged my complaint and are going to send some forms out, so fingers crossed!!
Has anyone had any dealings with ACF?Awaiting first win!!0 -
Can anybody help?
I went through a broker with MD Nationwide to get my mortgage and having dug out the details I was sold ASU (which I believe is another version of PPI).
I have found out that MD Nationwide was bought by Deacon Homeloans, but I cannot get a contact number for anybody.
Are my thoughts of ASU correct? And can anybody point me in the right direction please?
Many Thanks
