    Hi
I have a question regarding the PPI, I have had a company called Life Style Money on the phone who claim that some credit card companies and load companies (including Mortgages) charged PPI by adding it on the interest without your knowledge and the only way to get this back is to let them handle it for you.
I paid PPI once on a credit card for about 3 months before I noticed it listed as PPI in fact and I always keep an eye on "other charges"
Is it true that credit companies could hide these charges?
Ignore anything cold-calling Claims Management Companies say on the 'phone or in TV adverts.
They just send a generic (often fraudulent) letter to your lender(s) forcing them to investigate whether what they say is true. Where complaints are upheld, these companies then take as much as 30% (plus VAT) of any redress awarded!
It doesn't sound as if you have had any PPI worth worrying about. You might possibly re-claim those three months you paid credit card PPI, but it probably wouldn't be worth the effort!

    Hi and welcome

It's been known that PPI have been added without customer's knowledge, or they may have assumed ppi (insurance was all part of the finance).

However, there is certainly no need to use a claims company, they just want your money if you succeed, you can do this yourself with free help from this site.

If your not sure about if you were sold insurance/PPI, you could at first try contacting the companies yourself and ask them to confirm, if so and you think you have reason to make a complaint/reclaim, all you then have to do is complete a reclaim questionnaire.
Keep a copy of what you send.

There are other ways of trying to find out, if the business will not disclose the ppi info, you can always request for copies of paperwork through the subject access request (SAR) channels, where they have 40 calendar days to comply.

More on SAR template letter if required here and below that the reclaim questionnaire.
However, if you still have papework, and the account numbers and find you were paying and mis sold the ppi, continue without the request of the SAR.

Well, in this case, your remarks were complimentary (rather than simply a duplication) to my reply!:p

I'm on tenterhooks waiting for responses so I thought I'd check my postage receipts and my Cap One complaint is still making its way through the postal system since 28th March - bah.

Send this to the FOS, front loaded is a mis sell reason on it's own, put copies in of your original complaint (you did use the questionnaire?) and stress the front loaded.

Well, sent my complaint off to FOS today. I didn't have the original questionnaire because I didn't make a copy but I did have some correspondence from them regarding their rejection and a few quotes from my phone conversation with them. I also pointed out to FOS that I think these loans were mis-sold on the grounds of them being 'front loaded. Wish me luck.

    Skint:think:
