    hi
totaly confused about ppi. i am paying 3 debts with creditors . how do i find out if ppi is on these debts ?

It should be on the agreements for loans and on a Credit Card statement if it is a CC.

if you do not have this info, who are the banks and when were these taken out?.

Hi All, I'm very new to this so please forgive me if this isn't the right place.

I had a vanquis card for about 2 and a half years, I have quite a large balance on it and have realised that I am also paying for a repayment protection scheme. If I'm honest it was only when I checked after doing some investigation that I realised that this was adding to my account and quite a lot at that. So my question is has anyone had any success claiming against Vanquis, I can't seem to find any? Can I still claim if I have an outstanding balance and if so if the claim doesn't cover the balance can they make life dificult by reclaiming the amount outstanding?

Trying to get on an even keel as would like to start a family.

    Thanks for reading

    Dave

Put a claim in, you only need reasons and the card number.

I had a large loan (75k)apx 8 years ago that was secured against my old house and was told I needed this insurance,
I lived abroad for a few years and now live in a different area,
can I find out who I had the loan with as I cannot remember??

    This is tricky!.
Do you have only old bank statements or any info regarding this loan?, you could contact the bank you had when you were here, they may be able to help.

Bit of advice from the experts please.

I'm about to submit a claim to Tesco re a credit card I took out in 2000 by post. I have obtained a copy of my original application, and I did tick the box (I was young and naive). All the form says is cardholder payment protection is designed to protect your Tesco visa card payments in the event of death, accident, sickness or involuntary unemployment. We strongly reccommend you take this cover. For cover just tick the box.

I think that this constitutes a mis-sell as they had not assessed my needs. How can they reccommend without an assessment? At the time I was on a zero hour contract, so would not have been able to claim on unemployment and already had some life cover. I was also living at home with little outgoings. So does this sound like a good case?

I cancelled the ppi in 2005 when I became a lot more financially aware, will this go against me?

Look here for reasons for mis sell
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance#step2

Any/all apply to you then put a claim in, the card number is the account number.
Also the reasons you state above.

    Hello all,
I checked my credit file to see if i could find a account number for a black horse loan but was unsuccessful so i made notes of the dates. The loan ended in October 2006, I called black horse and presented them with the details and requested the account number. The very nice lady on the other end checked on her computer and said there was no information on this loan. She checked the address and also a previous address but still no luck. Surely they should have this info as it is less than 6 yrs since the loan finnished. Is this just a stalling tactic ? Has anyone else experienced this problem.:(

    Regards

As the loan was paid off in 2006, you need to do a Sar, this is not a stalling tactic they will not find this loan as it will have been archived.

Enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond, put as much info as you can and the last 4 digits you have.

Alternatively, to get the account number you could contact your bank, ask them if they have the DD info still, this is a long shot but you will not know unless you try.

So I have done a check and I have taken 2 loans, one in 2006 and one in 2010. Also 3 credit cards.

Both loans were with HSBC, the credit cards, one was a Mastercard - the credit check doesn't say who it was with? One other credit card I still have was from HSBC, I believe I had PPI on this one previously and another current credit card I have with Capital One (May have had PPI on this at some point too).

So as I do not have any of the original paperwork how do I find out if I took out a PPI?

    Thanks

Send a letter asking for copies of the agreements, enclose £1 for each one.
do a Sar to each if this fails.

This will give you all the info you need.

Don't know what you could do with the Mastercard one, sorry.

Spoke to the FSCS earlier. Again, a total waste of time. We're not prepared to waste another second of our lives with this crap anymore. I checked the loan agreement and it clearly states that upon full repayment the loan will have cost £13,259. We've already paid £13,020 and will make another £500 of payments. If the f***ers want anymore they are going to have to sue us.

I have raised a PPI complaint with three companies : Natwest, MBNA and the Coop

    Letters were sent : 14/02

Acknowledgement from MBNA and Coop after nine days

So far I have heard anything from Natwest, phoned them today as apparently as of yet I am not on the system...

Does anyone know how long it takes Natwest (HBOS?) to acknowledge a complaint?

Timescales for claims for all three would be nice as well

    Many thanks
