Good Morning again Forumites,
I have a question, I requested my original documents from MBNA, within those documents is a form clearly stating that I didnt tick the box for PPI (all good) and they have also sent me my Final statement which has a balance of £40.30 that was paid off (so therefore no interest or anything was added) my question is, do MBNA do this so you think "Didnt have PPI on that then" is it a clever tactic on their side? Do MBNA do this a lot and should I write back to them just in case? Anyone had this thought before?

Hi can any help me please?
I put a PPI claim in with Nationwide on a mortgage we took out 2003. They have now replied saying they are not upholding the complaint. The reasons :-
The mortgage application was submitted by a third party intermediary.
The policy was suitable for your circumstance at the time of the sale.
There was nothing to suggest that you had sufficient existing cover in the event of accident, sickness or unemployment.
And it goes on. We were told that we had to have the insurance to secure the mortgage and no further information was given regarding the PPI. We had substantial savings at the time of the application which could have secured our mortgage payments for over a year if we were made redundant.
Is there any more I can do now, or accept their decision? ThanksClaire0 -

I have just heard that I have been successful in my PPI complaint against a loan I took out in 2000. It was only a small loan £1,500 but £120.24 PPI was front loaded. The offer letter is premiums paid until 2001 plus interest of £111.02 until Feb 2012. I know it was only a small premium but would have thought the interest would have been more? What do others think?
Thank you.0 -
Okay so found my paperwork, although already in the midstof the claim, it was nram and they came to me.
Can i ask...it states ppi amount and interest and then it also states cash value...now between ppi, which is about 700 and with interest about 900 the cash value is 3000 ....what does this all mean?:o
What was the loan amount that you borrowed and over what term?.0 -

I recently received payments for mis-sold PPI's from a Halifax loan and credit card, through Gladstone Brookes. (I know i should have done it direct!!)
However, i informed them that i also had a PPI with Gregory Pennington who i used approximately 6 years ago as an agent to manage my debt through as i owed quite a lot of money. They told me that they wouldn't be able to challenge this one as it wasn't part of a credit agreement. Is it still possible to make a claim against Gregory Pennington? If so, how?
If the ppi with GP was to cover the payments for the debt, then you needed this.
If you could pay the debts if the worst happened, then you did not need this and it could have been mis sold.0 -
My first posting and I'm looking for help/direction...
I had a car finance loan in 2004 (started/arranged in Dec 03 or Jan 04) through RFS Ltd (Renault Financial Services). I don't have any paperwork left....stupidly had a clear out when I moved address and thought given the length of time and the fact I haven't owned the car for a number of years meant I was safe to shred it! Anyway I think it was arranged for 3 years and payments were around £150-160 a month (dont even recall the loan amount!) - I made all my payments on time though didn't settle early or anything. I am sure I had PPI on it although I didn't need it as my employer has a good sickness payment policy...I don't think I was ever given options by the garage salesman who set it up for me as if it had been presented to me as a choice I am sure I would have declined it.
Anyway since it was set up pre 2005 and not with a bank am I best to go through a claims company or where do you suggest I start? I have emailed the ombudsman to ask if RFS were regulated by the FSA before 2005 and am awaiting a reply.
Am hopeful that some good will come of this though appreciate its been a long time since I took out the loan....
A claims co can only do what you can do, you will gather the info and they will take a %.
Send a SAR to RFS if you still have the address, see what they come back with.
Enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.

Hello,
I have just rang egg and asked for the ref no for a loan I had with PPI on. Turns out I had two!! Both paid off, 1 paid off Nov 2003 and other 1 paid off Apr 2008. When I took these out I was told I could not have the loan UNLESS I took out PPI.
When I called they said they could raise the claim for me over the phone, which I did stating the reason above.
Now I did try and claim PPI back ages ago on one of the loans around 2007, at the time I was told I could not claim as they could not find the recordings of the phone calls??!!! So told me I had no proof.
So my questions are:
1 - Have I done the right thing?
2 - Is what they said true, and if so are they likely to turn my application down now?
3 - Has anyone had trouble with claiming form Egg?
Thank you for your time in reading
2)did they give you a final response and tell you to go to the Financial Ombudsman?.
3) Varies, you could get a rejection, if you do then post here and we will help you with the next step.0
