  • Hi my partner had a claim lodged with MBNA bank and they refused her as they sent her a copy of a form with a tick in a box for ppi and her signature on it (she can't remember signing up for it). Does this effectively mean the end of the road or is it worth continuing to the ombudsman?
  • Hi.

    I really need some help have no clue at all where to start a wee bit dumb struck :think:. I had various credit cards, store cards and loans, all paid off now due to going into DMP. But not sure if had PPI or am entitled to anything anyway?!

    Hello, I wonder if anybody can help me, I am absolutely useless with figures. I am in the process of claiming my front loaded PPI back from picture loans now via FSCS. I have sent off my paperwork and I am now trying to work out how much I could (if they uphold) get back.

    We took the original loan out in March of 06 for £11,000 with ppi of £2744.50 at an interest rate of 7%

    We then topped up the loan to £23,500 with a PPI of £5863.25 at an interest rate of 7.9%

    What I am not clear on is the amount of ppi I am claiming back. Is it the £5863.25 or the two added together. Sorry for sounding stupid.

    hi just put in my first claim for mis sold ppi with hsbc. recieved a letter back after 2 weeks asking for documentation confirming protection for 2 of the loans (i am claimimg from 5) and also they want accompanying bank statements confirming the payments made. I have the original loan agreements but no statements. do i have to get these statements or are they asking for these just to stall. the statements needed would be from 1999.:(

    [FONT=Arial, sans-serif]Hi

    I need some advice regarding a PPI claim against First National (now GE Money). Loan was taken out in 2002 to be paid off over a period of 240months. Loan paid off early in 2007. I sent the standard ppi claim letter to GE Money in January they have replied with a full and final response saying that as the loan was sold through a broker, the broker is responsible for mis sell. Unfortunately the Broker went into administration in 2010 so I contacted FSCS. The FSCS advised me that as the loan and ppi were sold pre 2005 they cannot help.

    The insurance policy underwriter is Cardiff Pinnacle, should I try and claim them or write back to GE Money?

    I was under the impression that the broker I used was acting as an agent for GE Money.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Can anyone help me with this? I've checked all of the previous posts on this and other PPI threads but I can't see anything that answers my specific situation.
  • Thanks to all the excellent advice on here, I claimed from TSB and Citi for loans taken out a few years back. Yesterday I came home after a couple of days away to find a letter from Lloyds TSB, offering £2400!

    Result!

    If you consolidated the first loan into the second, you should have received a rebate for the remaining PPI. Likewise if you paid the second loan off early you should also have had a rebate.

    You are claiming for:
    (£2744.50 - rebate) + (£5863.25 - rebate).
    You should also receive the extra interest back and I think the 8% flat rate also.
