Given that several Chief Constables have come out in favour complete legalisation, you may be wasting your time."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

I dont really agree with the previous posters way of phrasing it but yes, I would.
You have no guarentee the police officer who goes to see this guy wont point at your house and go 'we've had reports of you being outside this house'.
If anything is proven you could end up having to go to court and give evidence which is not necessarily what you want when you're on this guys doorstep.
Personally the welfare of my children would come first before any sort of desire to get embroiled in the criminal justice system.0 -
we had this on our tiny little estate, really quiet, no main road, no passing police, cant be seen from road etc etc. phone box a short distance away was used to make calls to dealer, he would then come onto our estate, drive to the bottom of one of the cul de sacs, the end of which were a foot away from park railings, druggy would get through a gap in the railings made by them for this purpose and go to the car, do his deal then back over the park.
was usually really quiet and not well used but we started to get gangs hanging round on there drinking, smashing bottles everywere, cans left all over the place. nightmare, all caused by one piece of scum who decided to trade by us. we all got onto the police giving his reg number, descriptions etc.he decided to take it to the other side of the park then so we were still putting up with the gangs drinking etc.obviously the police were taking notice because he was in the local 'who is in court' bit in the paper a few months later for dealing. back to being nice and quiet here. none of us ever gave our names in to police but i will say they dont take it as seriously if you dont i was told. i think it was sheer volume of people ringing why they had to take notice of our situation.
as another poster said, dont tell even your friends if you report a dealer, easy for them to tell 'just one person' then it gets everywere.Shine on you crazy diamond..............0 -
Until a week or so ago I would probably have been in the "report them" camp. That was until this happened to the garage round the corner from where my parents stay. I know the guy who owned it - nice guy - used to get my car fixed there when I lived in Scotland.
Sounds like he did the right thing, now he has no business and he has had to go into hiding. Is grassing up a drug dealer worth that? I know the morally correct answer but when someone is threatened in this way it makes you question what you would really do in those circumstances.0 -
The drug dealer that you do not report to the police could ultimately be responsible for the death of your brother/sister/partner/son/daughter/niece/nephew/friend if they get suckered into the deadly world of drugs..................:(0

buy a water sprinkler if you have a front garden
at least that will shove them up the road a bit.

A security light might be good as well as/instead of a CCTV camera.
Also as long as it LOOKS like a CCTV cam it'll do the trick. Superglue an old broken webcam next to a CCTV sign, I'm sure people sell old broken webcams on ebay for pennies."If you don't feel the bumps in the road, you're not really going anywhere "

There is no risk of the OP having to give evidence if the report is made through crimestoppers.0
