Who's going to loose when DLA becomes PIP?

I personally agree with PIP - DLA is far too subjective and just depends on how you fill in the form. I reckon I will probably do better out of PIP.
You may think you will do better on PIP but remember it will be ATOS who will do the medicals for this benefit, and if you go with ATOS record on ESA, they are turning a lot of people down who think they should be getting this benefit.0 -
I was told by a Motability advisor that about half of their fleet was leased to retired disabled people - not at the moment being re- assessed.
So, 600,000 (current fleet) by half is 300,000 and the quoted figure of 150,000 cars are being returned.
Therfore 50% of current re-assessments are envisaged to be failures - are my maths correct?0 -
I understand people are worried about DLA/PIP, as I am, but all these posts are just making people more and more anxious and drawing conclusions of what they will or wont get when its phased in
Its not worth the worry and making yourself ill over untill its your turn to be assessed, that may not happen to some of you for a year or two, maybe longer and who knows what could happen in the meantime, you could win millions of pounds and not need the benefit! There are so many what ifs and do I qualify with my condition, and the only people who can truly tell you that are those who will assess you.
Yes you can read up on the new benefit, but you can also read up on ESA and the descriptors but how many believe they qualify for the certain groups of that benefit and dont get in? You just never know and some with certain illnessess are making themselves worse with all the worry.
Like I said about ESA - just accept that when PIP comes in you will lose all of your entitlement. Anything better than that is a bonus!
Now is the time to start planning the what ifs.
Consider whether it is right to get a new Motability car or maybe buy your own.
Work on the premise that you will get nothing under PIP and adjust your outgoings now to compensate for what might happen in the future.0 -

Thus lumbering the taxpayer with an ever increasing bill for the appeals and if the ESA appeals is anything to go by 40% of PIP appeals may end up successful.0 -
But surely they'll be selling far fewer cars to Motability as they'll have 25% fewer customers.
Err yes, but they don't make any profit out of the cars they sell to Motability so they won't lose any money will they.
They will have to get rid of some workers to match up with the new supply and demand figures, but the manufacturers don't stand to lose anything. They are already talking about closing the big Vauxhall plant to make way for reduced demand.0 -
But that's the same with DLA viz.High Rate Mobility = Motability
Low rate Mobility = get on y'er bike
Yep it is, but getting the 12+ points is going to be darn more difficult.
You will have to be unable to walk and not able to wheel yourself in the wheelchair.
In other words only those that need someone to push or for them to need an electric one.
AND they will have to prove that to be the case with medical evidence.
Just being unable to walk will not count any longer!0 -
A few Motability advisers in these car dealerships may also find themselves going onto part time working or having to diversify!!0

I think that I should be the next Prime Minister - but it will never happen!!0 -

Yep you are perfectly correct and I did that calculations many weeks ago.
The government are hoping for a 20% saving, I seriously suspect that the saving will far exceed 50%!!!
The government are too frightened to put that info out for fear of what might happen. 20% has a good ring to it - 50% is a serious disaster waiting to happen!!0
