Dear Sabby,
I Work For Global PC Helpline. If you are a subscriber then we would be glad to help you even if you call in midnight.
Global PC Helpline is not a Scam. We fix issues related to our subscriber's Computer/Laptop or any other Computer peripheral.
They phone YOU and then charge £100's for doing things to PC's that are FREE of charge via microsoft...SO YES IT's a SCAMIt is unfortunate that most of the call centers mislead the customers by telling them that they are calling from microsoft. We do not follow same model. However we tell our customers that we have Microsoft Certified Professionals (which is true and can be proved if asked). We request you to contact support team if you ever face issues. Having a facebook page since last 2 years, running the same website from 3 years and having 4 toll free numbers for four different countries couldn't be a part of scam.
And any reprobate can have a FB page and a website- Racists, terrorists, scammers and all kinds of nasty vermin are utilizing the same technology right now too!We request you to confirm the facts before you post "Negative" views about any company with a strength of 45 Technicians.
Should you or anyone else here have any questions about Global PC Helpline or the way we run our Business please do not hesitate t post here.
Thanks,
Amit Mishra,
A GPCHL Executive

How can they 'prove' they are certified by Microsoft- if that were true he'd have provided it in this reply surely!
Yeah, so they direct us to themselves to check if it's a scam- "Hi, are you a scammer" Scammer: "no" ROFL!! As if they're going to say "yes"?!!

The original copy of the post said they employed Microsoft Certified Professionals. A Microsoft Certified Professional will have an ID card which shows the level of their certification. The company *may* also be Microsoft Partners (although I'd be surprised). Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Nice to know that some of you are turning the tables on these scumbags.
I got a phone call from my 85 yr old Mum who was panicking because they'd told her she only had 30 minutes to save her computer from all the viruses on it. Luckily I was in when she phoned me but if I'd been out I don't know what She'd have done. And what about the ones who don't have family they can ask?Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

Sadly, they are the 2/10 that make it worth the scumbags while to keep phoningPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
I have not had any calls, shame after reading this thread i think i could rise to the time delay challenge, once i said to an unwanted caller have you made an appointment? usually they say no so i offer the next days date (but the following year ) as all calls are important its best to make the appointment, but waiting a year is a joke..... some don't realise what i done, some ask if i made a mistake no i say mrs .... is a very high profile lady and cannot waste time on calls randomly.
I Do hope i get a call soon, i'm planning what to say and do as i type.0 -
I got one yesterday, kept him talking for a few minutes, then said 'just hold on a minute' I put the phone on the settee, went to make a cuppa, came back and lifted the phone, didnt say anything, put thephone down again, had my cuppa and dunked a couple o' ginger biscuites lol
Picked the phone up, it must have been about 15 minutes by then, he was still there.
I said hello, he said, youve been a long time, you told me to hold on a minutes.
'Yes, I replied gleefully, 'I just wanted you to feel just what I feel when you waste my time' and anyway, I dont have a computer.
Told me I was a waste if space:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I had one yesterday evening. I think she mentioned ProTech as the company she was a part of, as well as being something to do with Microsoft.
I asked her to wait whilst I (supposedly) went to the computer. After a few minutes, I went back to the phone (she was still waiting), and asked if she was OK to hang on a bit longer whilst the PC was (supposedly) booting up. My wife & I then went out and left her hanging on the line!
My daughter put the phone down maybe 20 mins later and it seems like she may have still been holding as the phone rang within a minute. We assume it was her and the two times in quick succession after, although my daughter didn't answer, but at this point she was forced to turn off the phones.
All good fun although I'm wondering whether dangling them a carrot was necessarily a good idea. I don't particularly want to be continuously pestered by them so next time, I'll just use the short, sharp "Fornicate Off" method ...0 -
A New Take On An Old Scam
(07.05)
If someone calls claiming to be your telecoms provider and says they are trying to fix a virus on their computer, the advice is to simply hang up.0 -
I had a call about an hour ago, a gabbling Asian from Windows asked if I was sitting at my pc and did I know that it was full of viruses and he would give me a code to clean it up.
I just giggled and said bye bye0 -

Yes I work for a telecoms/BB provider and I've had customers ring us saying these scammers claimed to be from us.
It's not nice explaining to someone they've been scammed. I had one chap who insisted it was all MY fault as "They said they were from XXX" In the end he got it when I pointed out I could ring him telling him I was Queen Elizabeth but it didn't make it true.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
