    Phone rings...
Good afternoon, Able Carpet cleaning, Phillip xxxx speaking, how may I help you?
(Dare I say, Indian voice) "Hello, is that Mr xxxx?"
    Yes
"Thank you, my name is Alex, I would Like to talk to you about your computer for business"
Yes, it told me yesterday you would call me
"Pardon, your computer told me I would be ringing you today?"
Yes, it said yesterday someone called Alex would ring soon
"What kind of computer is it you are using?"
    It is a Saint Peter
    "What kind is that please?"
A special one, it was blessed by a priest when I bought it
"You are really mad Mr xxxx"
Then he hung up on me, how rude!

The last one I had, they told me that my computer was sending them messages, so I asked them which computer it was as I have several.

I love the idea of a competition to see who can keep them on the phone longest!
My technique is also to answer their questions with nonsense but when I get bored I usually say'just a moment, I'll check' then walk the phone into the room next door and leave it on. Eventually they realise I'm not coming back and hang up! Good time extender tho! :rotfl:

Have just come across this - don't know if it's been posted before:

Two notable aspects: I was aware of the Event Viewer being used as the opening gambit - was not aware of the use of the CLSID as a further convincer. Also, it takes a nasty turn at the end when they end up threatening the guy (calling him back several times).
Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

Never had a call, which is a good thing. However I'm half hoping I get one to see how long I can string it out, pitting their scamming script against a Windows 8 virtual machine.

I've been here before but today I had another one, This time it was from Creative solutions online. a distant phone line with the usual Indian accent telling me I am infected by Malware, spyware ect, playing the idiot I expressed my concern and asked how they new, the reply was they have sophisticated software the scans and detects such infestations "It even gives you my phone number" my reply. After a bit of click on this, go to there, input this, I told him that my screen had gone blank and a picture of a little girl in a pink hat had appeared on my screen ( my screen saver). totally confused he went to get his supervisor, a lady voice now with the same accent took over, she actually wanted to take over control with remote access after trying to blind me with malware/spyware horror stories, by this time after 20 mins ish I got bored and told her she was talking to an IT technician and I was testing her computer Knowledge but found it wanting, she then said I had a lot of time to waste, my reply yes but on this occasion I was wasting her's, she hung up.
    Well it keeps me amused.
