Rhiwie.... as Rummer said, hope its only precautionary...
cant go into too much detail here, BUT it looks as though we have a neighbour of a relative claiming/using part of their land...this is all we need to have another problem to sort... Dont think this one is going to be sorted out quickly, considering what they have done on the land...:o:o:o:o
We have friends who have been through something similar to this, and it went to court... so will have to contact them for some adivice etc....before we go to the solicitors and get the ball rolling..... The thing is, if it isnt sorted out now, after the householder's days the house and land comes to us...so we do have a vested interest that this is sortedWork to live= not live to work0 -
Hugs to Mr & Mrs Rhiwie. Fingers crossed for you here, too.
I think I'd need that running by me again, CTC, but understand you can't say much. I'm probably just having an elderly moment.
Is this your land or neighbours land that the relative is claiming? I thought I understood it to be neighbours but then "the land would come to us" bit threw me.
Beautiful sunshine but, unless one can find a sun trap, the breeze still has a cuttingly cold edge. OK to work in but I'm still nursing a sore rib so I didn't hang about too long.
I took some photos & videos of the ponds which are absolutely heaving with tadpoles. The newts are plentiful, too.
 Sadly, as I have no pic/video account I can't show you. :rotfl:0 -
Fingers crossed here as well, rhiwie.
Itsme...
"it looks as though we have a neighbour of a relative claiming/using part of their land."
....meant to me that CTC has a relative who has had a neighbour encroach on their land, not CTC's land.0 -

As it did to me (apart from I took it to be the neighbour's relative) until I read

At that point I wasn't so sure.0 -
yep you got ot Davesnave, and after the relative's days we inherit the house and very large gardens
basically a neighbour of a close relative has dumped a load of rubble on their land, which has also knocked downn the fence and gone onto relatives land...we thought they were trying to level their land so they could park horse horries on it, Hubby has been round and had a word, and by all accounts its only there temp, as it is to fill in a hole on the opp side of their land...so time will tell if it is moved..
Cant wait going to Cardiff later to a concert... I am like a little kid.... Thunder..Whitesnake and journey.... been watching thunder on utube all morning:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -

just in quick....rules may have changed. BUT
it used to be if someone uses unfettered a piece of land with no contact from owners/representatives for 10 yrs plus they can lay claim to it. if put in writing that you KNOW of thier use [copies kept] REGULARLY then they can not claim land.
personally i would politely write and give them a reasonable date to remove the rubble and restore fence or you will contract people to do it for them and they will have to pay costs. if they do not comply ,you are within your rights to do as such and if no payment then small claims court will be the way. with written evidence its "not a leg to stand on"...............:D0 -
I hope CTC is having a good time tonight.
We decided to make the most of the decent weather, so I took DW to a 4 acre garden planted around an old mill in the Teign Valley. I'd noted that it was only going to be open on one day this year, but when we arrived we found it would be the last opening ever. The lady owner, who'd lived there 65 years, had died March.
It was a wonderful setting, so the former owner had been very lucky to have continuous gardening time there for so long. We noted that she'd been pretty forward-thinking, with relatively old thermal solar on the roof, some new solar electric on a barn and a positively ancient hydro-generator in the garden itself!
