As a matter of interest, has anyone seen the slightest hint of May blossom yet?

I think I saw a small one out beside the Link Road in Barney today, but I was driving and didn't get a second look.

As it was so windy again, I thought I'd go get our food, chook food and fuel sorted before the grockle invasion. ;)

Apparently, it's as cold as 6c in East Anglia, so I'm not going to moan about the wind. S'posed to be 12.5c here at present but it doesn't feel it!

Neither of our hawthorns is thinking of blooming yet. One's a Paul's Scarlet and I don't think it's terribly well. :(

Holiday on the West Coast sounds good Alfie! :)

Supposed to be 10 degree here and definately does not feel like it - high winds and rain.

The weekend looks "good" but that's 15 degrees if we are lucky and with night time temperatures in the 4-6 range, planting out tender summer crops would be silly.

Eldest is on his way up to Peterborough to some car show... going up in a friend's car, so as you can imagine I am in panic mode... told him to phone and text us regular..so I know he is ok...

Think I am going to make a cuppa, and go and have a nice soak in the bath...and have a chill out night...

Bright, sunny and deliciously warm here today! I spent the day relaxing in the garden which was blissful :D

Apart from that though there has been endless upsetting news here today and I am exhausted. I hope the sunshine lasts....

    Hope everythings ok Rummer.

Ruddy freezing here and lit the stove. Been flying round like a mad thing today, its DD1s prom night and she's had the works, spray tan, hair and makeup. Finally I can collapse on the sofa, at least until midnight. Hubby has gone out with some of his old work colleagues he met them at 2 .00 so goodness knows what state he'll be in and what time I've got to pick him up!

DS1 has got lots of opportunities coming his way, he's nearly finished his apprenticeship and he's not sure where to go from here. Maybe do a residential course at college, go off shearing for the season and then go abroad. The world is his oyster.......

Hope the weather improves I've got an Everest size washing pile and can't get to the summit!

For once the forecast is wall to wall sunshine this weekend :j

    Not hot, but thats ok.

Grass cut and ant powder in the ant's excavations in the GH!

Washing on, though tbh we've had quite a few good drying days recently despite the odd shower. Brightness levels last 6 weeks are well up on last year as well, after a cold gloomy 1st quarter. Blossoms not quite out on Hawthorn but wont be long.

Just delivered the remainder of my toms to the church hall, where I hope they sell. :)

Was in grave danger of being roped-in to do the sales, so....sport-smiley-009.gifaway! There's a flower festival this weekend and a scarecrow competition too, but as we are outside the village, we aren't allowed to take part in that. :p

Hope alfie's date went OK and that she didn't have to suffer recollections of stuck gudgeon pins and rusty ball joints....;)

oooo sounds like a man thing:cool::rotfl::D

Well just come back from monthly farm auction, it was dire, total carp... plus got an ouper headache, and sore throat... so having a cuppa, and some panadols..

I noticed a lot more plants being sold, in the auction, and by the car booters.. personally I thought the prices they were asking were high.....but if they are selling, then I really do need to get my act together for next year..
