Have you spoken to Quince's, Dave? They always used to have summer holiday homes for their stock - mostly up here on the moor, I think, but they may use others, too. If they can't help themselves they may know who could.
As to the sheep. I think people believe they're slow, ploddy things that can't possibly jump a fence. Ooooooh nooooo, some are like mountain goats. :rotfl:0 -

I went to school with Paddy, so I could have a word. Probably someone more local would be best though.
I think in a year or two, when we have everything properly sorted outside, we'll know where they could go.....Obviously not in the orchard while the fences are vulnerable like that!0 -
I'm doing all I can to avoid touching next winter's wood, so it's a case of rounding up all the small or dodgy bits lying around.
We've already burned the rotten bits of the pole barn poles and an old field gate, complete with the hinges. We've plenty of old, wormy oak too, but I don't know how to cut that up without wrecking the saw! Leylandii is better than I thought it would be, so the smaller bits of the neighbour's old trees are coming in handy.
But it all counts. Off now to track down this evening's fuel....
I heard permaculture described as uncommon common sense.0 -

Not much other news except a friend successfully climbed Everest for the charity that the poor victim of yesterday's atrocity supported.
My son got to base camp but no higher! Although its a bit of a conveyor belt nowadays it is still a huge achievement for which your friend should be proud.
Winds due to be v strong later today, which will strip a lot of the blossom off the trees. Woman at the newwsagents this morning reckons she saw a mini tornado yesterday.
Found my first piece of Meissen in a bought lot yesterday, a flower encrusted vase with birds of paradise, damaged but lovely. Listed and sold it in hours.0 -

Not that you'd want to hear if it's anything like the forecast for round here
There are a few partially sunny days but none with wall-to-wall sun nor any real warmth. That's taking us past the longest day. At the moment the furthest available is 22nd June which is currently listed for "Considerable cloudiness" & 17 degrees.
If we get any run of decent weather it looks like we'll have to wait until the nights are drawing in.0 -

I am extremely proud of her. I'd say more but an open forum isn't really the place.0 -
As a matter of interest, has anyone seen the slightest hint of May blossom yet?
Some of the trees seem to be so far behind this year that by the time they get into full leaf it will be autumn :think:0
