Lilac is well and truly out here. Not a rose yet though, Buds are looking more promising, though the green fly is having a good go at them. Apple blossom is gorgeous but like others, very few pollinators out there:(

    morning all:j:j
not much to report except I'm having a cuppa:D and a white chocolate and strawberry muffin:cool::D

had to cheer myself up, as I looked at the floorplan of the big and VERY expensive craft show we booked for September and we are right opp one of the biggest discount fabric people in the uk:eek::eek::o:o:o:o an bolloooks was my first reaction..

They haven't been to this event before...and TBH we were taking a huge gamble going to this one..

It coul work for us, as we are directly opp them, or it could be our downfall, as I should imagine they will have a nice professional stand with oodles of nice new cheap fabric, that they normally sell in bundle bags..

I feel like a very small tiddler in a very large pond amongst very big fish:o:o

Good news Alex. Let the negotiating begin! :T

Quiet day, yesterday. I needed a break after all the grass cutting, and having noticed a fox poo very close to the chicken run, I decided to fit bolts onto the pop holes of the newer house, just in case.;)

We also heard back from the builder whose quote for cladding the barn we turned down a few weeks ago. I offered him the job of doing the end, rather than the whole lot, but when I didn't hear back, I began to think I'd offended him. However, all is well...I think.

DW is in a much pain with both carpal tunnel and tennis elbow, all the result of her work on the garden in the past month, especially digging/planting. She's opted to have the injections now, having finished the worst of the heavier work. It's a bit of a worry...with shades of deja vu. :(

With 3/4 of the new hen area seeded, maintenance will just be more mowing there (!) and we hope to have the tree end of the ornamental garden seeded too within the next few weeks. We're just stone picking there now - probably get at least a tonne before we seed over it! These places lay fallow so that we could pick off the couch and perennial weeds, but they'll be nothing special. We have long realised that the moles & chickens will make them even less special in a short space of time!

One blimmin sheep has decided it wants to go into the orchard so it's jumped the fence a couple of times. I'm amazed at how agile it is when I go in there to chase it out. As for the rest, they're all quite young, so there's a lot of argy-bargy and head-butting. In the evening they have a good charge about for no particular reason, just like the lambs across the valley. In the day they often just sit and laze. I guess they have more than enough grass and it's easy living here. :)

Just had another order for eggs. Can't keep up.

    So do I, but then I'm only 5' 4":rotfl:

People like little fish too.:) If I go to a plant event, I may look all over the big stands, but it's usually the small stalls with more unusual stuff that I buy from.

Here I am again, talking about chickens.

Think it's going to happen soon. After half term. Especially since a local breeder who has won a lot of prizes is giving up his aracauna trio and my other half, always reluctant to commit to any wildstock, (whoops, interesting Freudian slip there), loves the idea of rainbow eggs....

Agreed. Lots of shiney new discount stuff might actually bring out the charm and quality of the real deal stuff
