We went out to plant a couple of hydrangeas this afternoon and, as often happens, we ended up doing something unplanned but very important. :o

As soon as we started to dig the first hole, a question formed: "Where is the main outdoor water pipe?" We had a rough idea, but rough isn't really good enough.

We need to route the pipe under a path, not under shrubs, so there was only one thing for it: dig it up!

Several hours later, we'd got the pipe on the surface, but just when we thought we had it beat, it split two ways....and one half went under about two tonnes of stones we have waiting to do the paths!

Once we've made the path and shifted the stones , we'll be able to sort out that section. Meanwhile, we may have to put up with a blue pipe on the surface......:o:o

EDIT: My Tinypic piccie has been re-done. First one wouldn't work.

Brilliant Rummer! Now you've surely planted more seeds than me. :)

We went to look around a local garden which I have wanted to look at for ages. It was really lovely and gave us a few ideas which is always a bonus.

Maybe more different types however I have only sown very small amounts ;) If I manage to make a good impression on the garden then I can have more raised beds installed (by us) next year. I just need to make the most of what I have at the moment to justify the increase in veggie growing space.

LIR we have a gorgeous local garden nearby and I love visiting it through the different seasons to get ideas for our garden.

I'm here! Soooo busy what with the kids, the tender, the rental properties.....

Easter was full on as always and we forever finish holidays hoping this time we are on top of things so there should be no major hassles for a while and then.....

But this time I think we might almost be there.

Needs to be as we are getting the quotes back from the builders next week. Feel slightly nervous about that :)

Meantime, I still have no livestock but I have put in lots of seeds so I'm hoping for a productive time in the next few weeks. The weather is improving and I feel like I have some energy and to do stuff.

    I'm sort of here.

In regards the larger picture I was chatting to some local farmers this weekend. While the first rape is flowering now I was told most have had corn failure this year. Combined with the very, very poor grass growth for the time of year people was worried.......

Alfie, I am glad to hear your loved ones are on the mend, all be it slowly.

Sadly we have no interesting on unusual road signs here :(

Rozee I spend many, many happy hours planning my garden and the planting etc and I then plant up oodles of seeds, where I fall down is keeping them going until their are productive. It is as if I run out of enthusiasm by the early summer :rotfl:

I didn't manage to spin, a glass of something chilled and chocolate got in my way ;)
I'm just looking at some old posts. this is so me, rum. We've commented on our sinilarities before. However, I am hopeful this year as I am far more aware of the real benefits of natural foods and I am not short of space. I've planted loads of veggie seeds and hymns... I mean herbs! Where did that come from? think I need to go to bed LOL!

:rotfl: Every year I say, this year will be different :rotfl:

All my seeds are in and so far I have been keeping them watered (small achievements make me happy!) and I am determined to do well so that I can have even more beds to plant next year. I do so love planning :D

CTC and Ferret Keeper I am sooooooo jealous of your trip to wonder wool, I bet it was amazing!

Alfie sorry to hear about your dad, sounds as if you, your family and friends will find him the perfect place to stay.
