hey ho...sheep acrobatics over...

Derry is a lovely person. My DW worked with her at Chelsea, but I don't think it paid Derry to do those kinds of events. She's had plenty of success without the hype.
Rummer, we all say "This year it will be different!" That's optimism. The time to worry is when you don't.
We had 17 eggs yesterday from 19 hens, which means that Miss Chatty, our hen that has internal problems and drinks almost non-stop is actually laying again. (We have 2 broodies in the slammer!) That's hopeful.
Did the final clear-up in the bottom hedge and stream yesterday and had another fine bonfire, so if I can get all the grass cut this week, that's us tidy.
Sorry to hear about your back problems, Alfie.:( I'm on anti-inflammatories for my knee (motorbike incident involving girl in mini skirt - long story!) at present, but hopefully it's only temporary. I believe in keeping going rather than resting and I know you do too. It will help having someone on the inside to help choose a nursing home for Dad; they vary so much and it's imperative to get it right, preferably first time.

That's a good plan.Trying to accomplish a realistic amount is better than being too ambitious, failing and then feeling fed-up.
(Says he, hoping he can sort the barns out this summer without falling behind!:o)
Glad the Woolly Event (forgotten name!) went well for you.
PS Is that Bank Holiday weather written-off then? :rotfl:0 -
CTC, hope WW went well, piccy looked impressive.
Dave/Alf, take care both of you. Loved the piccies of your gardens.
Rummer, you're way ahead of me. Beans I sowed indoors have gone mouldy, nothing else has come up yet. Heavy frost last night but glorious atm.
DW off to a family funeral in the North while I mind the home and DS20 -
Hello day-dreamers
I can't believe nobody got my Nana Muscari joke:D
Maggie, I'm going to get some grape hyacinths, I didn't know they were bee-friendly. Are they bulbs?? And when do I need to plant them ~ August/September time, same as daffs??
Dave, or anyone in the know, do you know if it's possible to get a 'taster' in a care home?? It's looking increasingly likely that my Dad will need to go in one at some point. Unfortunately we don't know anyone with inside information.
CTC, your blankets look lovely ~ are they Welsh blankets?? I'd definitely like to buy one at some point, not just yet though as 'things' are afoot here.
It's glorious here too, Rhiw. The wind is a bit nippy though, especially when you're in the shade!!
lir, is the ginger rosemary edible?? Sounds interesting'A watched potato will never chit'...0
