Quiet here.... Someone must be having good weather. :D:cool:;)

Oh joy! With the Outlaws arriving at the weekend, I was sent forth to find stuff for the larder. Spent much of the day in town when I really wanted to be here. :(

Never mind. Two hours ago I lit one of the largest pyres I've ever made. Now all that material from the hedging and felling four willows has gone. :j
DW says it wasn't quite as impressive as David Copperfield making the Statue of Liberty disappear, but it's of more lasting benefit. :D

Yes, RAS, it's suddenly 'warm.' I'd forgotten what that was like. In fact, I put on some clothes to go into town and I had to come back to take off a couple of layers. :o

Slightly damp along the M4 going west today and will be a lot damper tomorrow!

Like others got some proper rain and expecting growth to start now. See that we've got suckers coming up from greengage roots so will have to cut them down when weather warms up and paint with arbrex
• Hi all :)

I have silverfish, and 2 cats. Clearly the silverfish aren't tasty, otherwise my cats - who chase the silverfish - would do more than just sit and watch them!

Anyway - I read that you can use Epsom Salts to help kill/prevent silverfish, so any tips on how to use it most effectively? The grains are rather large, bigger than grains of sugar, would it be better if I ground them a little finer? Do I set traps (and with what to attract them?) and how?

Thanks :T

I think, depending on where the silverfish are, that you could either sprinkle or put in a 'trap', r.a.i.n.b.o.w..
I'm not sure that it would do the cats any good if they decided to eat much, though.

I haven't seen any of those since I was a child!

I thought they'd gone the same way as chilblains!:rotfl:

Epsom salts did something good for one of our plants, but I can't remember which one. We dissolved it and watered on.

I imagine you just make a strong solution and slosh it around on relevant surfaces with a cloth....but I'm guessing! :o

We didn't get any lambs today.

It's been a lovely day. There's no grass which is a bit desperate & none expected for 3 weeks. We did have some, but the chill wind killed it.

I'm not selling any eggs at the gate - hopefully some will get sold soon.

A dry and very cold day today :D

I am working hard in the house this morning and in the afternoon I am heading out to work in the garden :j Just need to stop procrastinating and get the work done as well as getting a heap of seeds planted up!

Hoping my OH will do a run to the dump as there seems to be loads of things to get rid of (and I don't want to go :rotfl:)

does anyone know how much these drains are normally??

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171021053141?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

been watching them, and typical they have jumpe from 99p to £22 odd..

Its one of those things where... you dont need them, BUT you know you might need them in the future. and it would be s@ds law if you dont buy them, you will need them:rotfl:

so I was just wondering on the price of these types of drain/pipes etc, to help me make a decision to bid or not, and up to what

Give your local Builder's Merchants a ring & get a quote for these, CTC

There's a Find The Stockist on the left of the page.

We have used things similar to their RainDrain around our place but it was too long ago to remember the manufacturer now &, obviously, the price would be well out of date. Sorry.
We also had gratings made to go across homemade concrete gulllies.

EDIT... hubby said to leave them.... so I am sure they will be a bargin for someone
