they look really cheap, do I take a gamble, and if we dont need them, then I am sure they will sell in the farm auction
EDIT... hubby said to leave them.... so I am sure they will be a bargin for someone
They didn't look too strong to me so you'd have had to be a bit careful where they were used - not somewhere too regularly crossed & with no traffic etc.
All in all I'd say hubby was right

hi all...

he works, has his own house and is nice ! so theres hope yet..:rotfl::rotfl:
its been piddling down all day today and is very cold here.
there was a big organised cycling event through the forest today/tomorow. 1000s apparently ... and there was this woman parked outside [spying on them ? ] here complaining about it to me ! saying as "commoners" it would disrupt thier weekend. when i asked why ? she said it delays tractors etc getting out of gateways ! i was gobsmacked that this !!!!! of commoners [who believe you me think they OWN the forest] cause trouble over something that is healthy and pro active... they really need to get a life. i drove through to go on an airport run and the biggest hold up was a car that had decided to hit a telegraph pole for no reason and between recovery vehicle, police and electric van waited half hour ....
im loath to leave sitting by my fire but i need to go get feed
hope you are all safe and well
LIR...my thoughts are with you0 -

I read about this a few days ago, alfie.
It's not just the commoners against it. Among others the New Forest Equestrian Association has been concerned. It seems to be the size of the event that worries many people. However Dr Tony Hockley, of the New Forest Equestrian Association (NFEA), said there was "immense risk" to horses and riders, especially when cyclists came up fast and silently from behind.
"I'm not against cyclists, I'm a keen cyclist myself but it's just the sheer scale of this new phenomena - parts of the forest become no-go zones," he said.
New Forest East MP Julian Lewis, has written to transport minister Norman Baker calling for such events to be subject to the same licensing regulations as road races and time trial events currently are.
"We should not wait for a serious incident before deciding upon an appropriate degree of regulation - not something heavy handed but something recognising that both the frequency and size of these huge commercial cycling events have greatly increased," he said.

You'll always get nimbyism about these sort of things but maybe they have a point in that there should be some sort of 'control' to keep a happy medium?0 -

We regularly get cycling races on the nearby dual carriageway, every weekend in the warmer months, sometimes they reduce the road to one lane as there are so many. I do wonder if they should be allowed to use the road this way, since this is an event rather than commuting.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

Naturally, but I also have another and that's being slow getting around to things.:o:o
However, the thing I'm sending you is packaged up (badly, 'cos I'm a bloke!:rotfl:) and ready to go at last.
I wanted to wait for printer ink, then when it came, I realised the printer needed more than just a transfusion.
Still, being a bloke, I spent half the day trying to fix it.:wall: Now I have very interestingly coloured hands......:o

with regards bikes ! believe you me the "horse" people are also claiming more rights to the forest than the commoners ! riders do very little road work to be on the forest here and personally i find it a bit "them and us" attitude instead of just getting on with things. 2 days is not a lifetime and gross exageration is in the media. today went by without a hitch. i passed many cyclists and not once was i held up any longer than a horse and rider who have in the past been a pain in the butt with thier ignorance of not thanking me when i wait/pass widely etc. NOT ALL OF THEM i will add. it was on minor roads, not carriage ways.
the forestry/NP here have shut various car parks to walkers etc telling us its cos of nesting birds in the area. BUT horse riders can go through the area and they can gorse burn the area ?????? law unto themselves here...0
