RAS, frozen shoulder is just awful!
I'm going to have to be more risk aware with these weather changes and keep oil tanks topped up as, without the promised delivery, our CH is now switched off. Will be off to shops tomorrow to get another electric heater so that the three essential rooms can be heated. Even so it will be extra clothes layers.
As for the oil company..............:mad::mad::mad:
I can't work out why companies are incapable of keeping their word anymore, rhiw.
No, actually, I can...... Rather than risk you putting your custom elsewhere (with a competitor) they'll put you in promised land.
I'm sure that most of the time they know darned well they won't be able to turn up on certain days but they feel they can lie with impunity as they're unlikely to get found out
After all our hassles with oil deliveries we do what you are going to do . We mainly just run our CH for a couple of hours mid-morning & early evening. If cold between we stick a fan-heater on for a while.
I do hope your delivery comes soon.0 -
It's weird, some of the hens still have lice, while others seem completely clear.
Those which show no signs have now had a further good dusting with diatoms and are in one house, while the minority of lice-affected birds have been placed in the house and run that was resting and given a dose of Ivermectin. At least we shall be able to eat most of the eggs produced in the coming week.:D Fed up of staring at hens bums now!
My antivirus is just having its 'Summer Update' as I type!:rotfl:
Arrrgghh!, it's just told me my browser will be closed....0 -
Had lotsa sun today! Amazed! Got up to 70F in front porch! Sat there looking at the grape hyacinth flowers and daffs poking through the snow. By evening only tiny bits of snow left in front garden. Glad to be back in warm house, though it was fun to be at caravan despite the chilliness - next time will take at least 2 hot water bottles! One is not enuff! :rotfl:
DD1 due to produce DGS3 today, no sign yet LOL. These things happen when they happen. We're hopefully planning on a trip to London in the not too far distant future though!
I'm worried about Choile - is she affected by the power losses in Scotland? It all sounded terrible up there when saw about it on the news yesterday.0 -
Maggie I was thinkiing the same thing about our Choille...
exciting times with DGS3 due any time ..
Rhiwe:mad::mad::mad: Did they say when they will be coming now to deliver the oil??? bloody typical when the weather is soooo cold...
have you got enough wood?
Alfie.... everything allways happens together...please take care of yourself....
Hope LIR takes you up on the offer of the cottage... even if its just for one night.....Work to live= not live to work0 -
No, looks like our oil order has been cancelled due to new H&S imposition by this company and promise to make a rescheduled delivery today was a blatant lie. So will be raising Cain tomorrow as well as topping up logs yet again.0

bloody hell rhiwie.... how long have you been buying off this company???
Will other companies be the same????Work to live= not live to work0 -
And now old girl needs the vet again.

Alfie, we are ok for hay ATM. We will need more next winter. Buying round here is a nightmare. Not even sure how much I'll be buying at this point. Probably four hundred small bales. Maybe five. Dunno yet.0

Have to wait and see what happens with the vet this week now.. All plans back on hold. Tbf we know old girl is more about weeks than years, but its about a year from the day I almost put her down last spring, and we have been shaking our heads saying 'any day' since then. Before that is been 'one day very soon' for a number of years. My friend who emigrated (whose horse she actually is) is in UK next week, so while she is perky but ill I can hope he gets a chance to say good bye to her.

I think, if I've got where choille lives right, that they've had snow, wind, ice, fire & an earthquake (a little one) ..... I kid you not.

Sorry to hear old girl is not so good again, LIR.0
