Alfie I know its an EXTREME long shot BUT...I am looking for one of these ( or something very similar)

I know this isn't vintage, but it's a helluva lot cheaper! :money:

One advantage with blocked eustachian tubes is that an H bomb could have been dropped last night and I wouldnt have heard it :D

And what did I say yesterday, bright sunshine here and I cant enjoy it :rotfl::rotfl:

Curious mix of stuff we got last weekend. Some quality items, but connaisseur stuff, so a thin market and harder to shift. Some beautiful 1870s aesthetic movement plates but will anybody buy them?

Outside I can see the spring bulbs shooting up, but I'd be surprised if we dont have another wintry blast or two before the Spring

I'm a bit grumpy this morning, having received an email telling me I was owed £425 in tax and thinking, "Whoopee!" before engaging brain.

OK it was only for a few seconds, and preferable to sending my bank details to some evil person, but £425 would have been nice.....:(

;)Rhiwy, would love to see pics of your plates. Am forbidden from buying any more china at the mo sadly, but its always fun to look!

Dave, I had one of those emails months ago. I printed it off and sent it to Accountant so he could show it to his little old lady clients as an example of what not to reply to! :D

Very blustery here again today, so am a bit put off going out to take the old leaves off the hellebores. The flower buds are up on them, so will have to be careful when snipping off the leaves. Could do with pruning the apple and crab apple and plum trees and the roses too. Maybe next week! ;)

Did a trip to IKEA yesterday to spend our £20 voucher for buying Xmas tree there. Came home with a picture frame, 2 paper lamp shades, 4 packs of night lights (been burning them in the porch when the weather's very cold to protect the amaryllis that's in there), and 4 of their blue bags. Total cost £7.60. So even OH agreed it was worth the trip, plus we had lunch there too.

I had an email from Paypal asking for confirmation of a new email address on my account. I sent it to them as a phishing alert only to be told it was genuine. So someone had half hacked my account, triggering a hasty change of strengthened password on my part.

But the phishing attempts are daily and must catch out some people :(

Maggie, just for you (though I've got one listed :)) some aesthetic plate piccies , the second two are in sets of six, hard to believe they are 130-140 years old!!

    Lovely plates Rhiwfield.

OH Having to repair stove chimney after the storm.

Windows I had for cold frames are broken so a clear up of glass is in order now the winds abated.

It was really bad & we both have dark circles under our eyes from lack of sleep. I bet there's a lot of damage about the area.

    Evening!

Things have been rough here so I haven't really been posting :( however I have wallowed in self pity for long enough and I am back :j

Our fence has blown down although luckily it hasn't damaged anything other than some raspberry canes that have seen better days so I am not going to worry. I had been planning on moving/replacing them anyway.

On a more exciting note the seed potatoes/shallots and garlic arrived today :D however the delivery person put them in our rubbish bin and I had to scoop them out which was foul  why do they do that????

The garden planning and prep has taken a bit of a back seat however the grim weather has meant that I would not be doing much anyway.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Rummer.... hope you are ok... I think A few of us on here are having or had a bit of a rough time, whether it is health, personal, financial or just things not going right because of the weather...

Its been a long year... well last year, and with no break in the weather and doom and gloom with the depression, which if it isnt the recession will soon will be one.. IMHO..

Chin up, and get those spuds chitting:p:beer:

Join the club, and it seems that choille has had a few small accidents as well! At least I hope they were small. :(:(:(

Our damaged fence is 80' long, and only 20' or so is down, but it has spurred us into thinking what we can replace it with. As it borders the grass verge, it forms a barrier between council yucky couch grass and our potentially nice garden.

I think we need to go evergreen to stop the grass, so at present I'm favouring Viburnum tinus, kept to about 3'.
