All the best for Tooth Day alfie.:A I hope it will be as big a doddle as it was for me when I had all my wisdoms removed, though I trust you will not have a big Irish nurse attempting to force dry conflakes down you a matter of hours afterwards. (Unless he's extremely handsome, of course! :rotfl:)

I could do with getting fitter.:o Three hours of hedge-laying yesterday left me stiff as a board, and I only got about 15' done, if that. You see people hedging on videos and it all looks kinda gentle, but the reality is that much of the time you're trying not to fall off one side or the other, so swinging about one-handed, like Tarzan.

And talking about special Days, thanks to the rain, I still haven't had Choille Day yet, but I now have two very wet bonfires....:(

Fingers crossed for a gentle handed dentist for Alfie!

OH has gone over to meet his brother at hospital so they can take MiL to nursing home. Should have happened ages ago, but they got norovirus on the ward, so it was closed to visitors, and anyway the home wouldn't risk having someone arriving who might carry it. At least it's a lovely sunny morning, so hopefully they'll have a nice drive to the home. I'm not sure what will happen next, but we should have at least a month of respite... OH's brother doesn't want MiL going back to flat as he and his wife have had the lion's share of the looking after - doing loads of washing etc etc over the last few years. OH has done plenty of going over and taking to appts etc, but it's been less full on than his brother has had it. We finally have a date for the Memory Clinic for MiL, Feb 16. So maybe that will give us all a better idea as to what we're up against. If MiL does go back to flat she will have to have "assistive technology" installed (she had one of those alarms you hang round the neck but when she fell she didn't use it - we suspect she just totally forgot she had it). We think that since she's currently self funding that means she'd have to pay for it. Special bed with sensors that alert if she doesn't return to it within set time, not sure how they manage to watch for falls during the day.

Poor OH and his brother will have to make some difficult decisions over the next few weeks.
  • I expect she's already left, but best wishes for the appointment Alfie! *hugs*

    Itsme....are you ok?

    And Alfie?

We are having troubles with old girl again, but nopt what you all might think.....she keeps limbo ing under fences, which is standard for her, but she has decided the road side grass is the very nicest and there is more going on to see. We might have road side gates put up too.

    I need hundreds of gates.

We just went to see new accountant. Me being so ruddy MSE is actually costng us money now, so we have to spend some money on the small holding. I don't know if I can get fencing done in time for end of tax year though.

    Yes, I'm OK, thanks LIR.

    And then there was one.
He's gone. It was his heart, poor old boy.
The vet said that he wouldn't have got up & wouldn't have lasted 24 hours. So it was an injection (restricting options for disposal) or wait till tomorrow to be shot. I couldn't leave him down overnight. I've had to sit & watch too many animals suffer before vets finally give up.
He was 28 so, given the hills he's had to contend with, not a bad age.
