I see that, along with diesel, the burning of wood is the next for the naughty step
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-21033078
I just think that the more people change over to wood the more the price will rise until eventually it will become as economically undesirable as oil etc.
Also heard the horse meat thing, CTC. It's freely available in lots of countries it's just we're a bit precious about it
It could be a genuine mistake at a continental supplier or it could be someone trying to work a swift one.
There are never guarantees unfortunately even if you raise your own. I've known abattoirs (even smallish local ones - of which there are sadly few left) give people someone else's meat back by mistake. However, you do have more control than someone who buys in a supermarket or even butchers.0 -
We've always known wood burning is dodgy, or, in my lifetime anyway.
But....partly because of the scale of us. A few cave men ina woods...not so much a problem. There are thingis feel I need spiritually, one is a tub of hot water the other is real flames.
Woodpellets, not so much as it turns out. M'eh.0 -
I wouldn't know what the soot rate for pellets was compared to real wood, IYKWIM, lir.
Let's be honest - everything we do damages someone or something somewhere. The more popular something becomes the more damage it will do.
I doubt there's anything that is truly ecologically friendly, totally healthy & without a detrimental side. It's probably only the numbers involved that make a difference.0 -

No, that's just the point, it's not! :rotfl:
But surely you must've heard of builder's bottom before.....
Here is the spiel that went with the piccie, which was sent to me by another villager this morning. After receiving numerous customer complaints, a
German
plumbing firm bought their plumbers a new t-shirt,
designed to make their
employees more attractive to the customers...0 -

I have a weekend away this weekend, I don't want to get snowed off! It looks like it'll be worse here than where I'm going though, so fingers crossed!"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0
