What have we learnt in 2012? Good question, CTC.
I think I've learnt to slow down. I don't think I'm the same person I was 12 months ago. Living on the land, even when I haven't had the time to experience growing, I think so much more about what production means and costs, in every sense of the word. I'm so much less of a consumer. Perhaps I just need to adjust my thinking on the house rebuild....
Dw i wedi dechrau dysgu Cymraeg ac dw i'n joiyo fe!
I've learnt to trust people more - and sometimes less
Next year, I've been fearful for the economy and what that might bring us for years now, so nothing's changed. I don't think it will get better for folk. If we do the full amount of work on the house it will be because the oney's better there, not in the bank.
I've learnt you don't have to see people, or even have met them, for them to be friends. :grouphug:0 -

The turkeys have been dispatched and are in the fridge. They'll get weighed and dressed later on in the week.
Weather has been milder today. DS1 and DD1 have gone to the pub for the young farmers Christmas Dinner wearing bad taste Christmas jumpers and there frined who I took along had his mums onsie on!!!! An interesting look, though he was complaining he wished his mum was taller!

They say Rhiw is "in one of Wales' most isolated and stunning locations."
It's not that isolated, especially since they built a new road after the old one fell down the hill. It's stunning when the cloud isn't too low! :rotfl: Crofting in Lllyn was a very hard life - not one I'd aspire to. "Overlooking Porth Neigwl" is something of a mixed blessing. Hell's Mouth was named for the wreckers luring boats onto a lee shore. Lots of wind, even more if you're higher up! :eek:0 -
Well, looking slitly up on the biomass front in that it's sort of working. Certainly enough to cope on a temporary basis while we try and come to a fictional resolve with the contractor. However it is now certain third party involvement to meet that resolve will be necessary, hopefully in the least contentious form possible.0

Expert witness, eh?
The expert wasn't welcomed here yesterday.DW returned from her travels last week, having spent £20+ on a stupid thing that was supposed to hold a Christmas tree upright and keep it watered.
With my design technology hat on I blurted-out, "That thing'll never work!" before my brain was in gear.:o I forgot my human psychology background etc in a moment of indiscretion. Anyway, too late, I was in the doghouse.:(:(
But every dog has it's day, and today we set about fitting the tree into this thing......;).
Didn't work, did it!So, it was back to the jolly old bucket with wedges and aggregate to fill the gaps, as usual.
She's speaking to me again.:):)

Over at CTC's business today, lovely goodies everywhere for an unreformed rummager like me!
And all I can say is that I had half CTC's fruit & veg buying skills I'd never go hungry again. Just amazing!
Itsme, will need your marpling skills later, will post photo!0 -
