Just come back from a weekend in Cumbria, playing here:

Done 6 hours riding and my knee is killing me, but had an ace time.

I saw them in an article recently and thought - wow. Not that I have ridden since I injured my pelvis/spine. Think I could do it now if I started with something sedate for short periods (one of the body people thought it would help but might be sore along the way).
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

My shore cross is slab sided, so not too wide. It was hugely helpful before I was 'broken'. Problem is she also had HUGE movement which is very hard on the back and seat, remaining as flexible in the small of the back as you need to be was fine in my late teens and earY twenties, now is simply not possible, my spine doesn't flex enough to be able to absorb her movement. (and she is out of action through arthritis now anyway).

I have been thinking a lot about highlands again though. My favourite of the natives, and with not huge movement (unlike those huge moveing welsh cobs) that I could probably absorb. And tha smaller movement might be more theraputic rather than challenging, enabling the heavies to be a prospect for the future? I would like another heavy and am, because of the size of movement thinking of the smaller cobbler ones, comptois sort of things rather than the shires I love or the other fantastic big British draughts.

Depending on the spine/pelvic issue....might side saddle be worth considering. I prefer riding astride but I know that if I am to ride in the future properly then it will have to be the way I go. (but need to lose weight to do so!)

    Sympathies Alf!

I have one buyer who's still waiting for his parcel after paying on 17th October

Not my fault, courier keeps sending it all over but never quite reaches him, and he's still being polite. Amazing.

While I had two buyers try it on recently I'm generally finding a sizeable majority of people are honest

Back from the architect after a marathon session, compensated for by a quick nose round parts of RHS Rosemoor afterwards.

We giggled as they apologised profusely for there not being much on offer in the restaurant, as we'd just taken pole position in the car park and enjoyed our (pheasant) sandwiches there. :rotfl:I think there were only about six 'customers' in the whole place, including us, but I still managed to find a soggy fiver, blowing around in the middle of nowhere.:D

I'd have needed much more than a fiver to purchase some of the sculpture on display, which began at £250 and ended somewhere well over £5k.

My DW, who has ears like bat radar, came to tell me, "That man over there has just bought a sculpture item for his wife!"

We left shortly afterwards. Doesn't she realise, we have a daughter who makes clothes for trees, so what would we need a set of stainless steel bulrushes for? :rotfl:

Well done to DS1, lucielle. :T

Oh yes, architect says he can fix the plan and even agrees with some of the changes we made. He's finally getting it about the need for a "muck room," and he's even pretended not to notice our quiet abandonment of his kinky roof line and veranda. We were never going to be quality customers, I'm afraid. :o
  • well done lucielle's son:j:j
