No we have to get it over east coast - too rocky here really, but I got really nice, sweet stuff for £3.50 @ bale which I think is good.
GOOD stuff here is £5+ a bale.
the weather caught out a lot of em and they baled having had rain on it = dusty fusty by xmas
old boy who did ours got the timing perfect and got it all under cover. it smells/feels gorgeous. we only kept 40 bales as we will be hard pressed to use more [prob only half]... cut about 400 i think but he got that for doing it all. we were more than happy with that.0 -
right night all, ive gotta get up early and haul that unit out so i can at least brush it down and try and make it look better.................0

That was good Alfie with the hay. We'll only use about thirty. The grass has still been growing until lately - this week. We have snow on the tops & sleet & loads of rain like everywhere else I suppose.
Took our fleeces into the wool sorters today. Car broke down again & we have a wee renault that we squeezed into & all the wool. Then on way home picked up two guys from saw mill & took them to garage to pick up their car & one had to sit on poultry feed sacks. What a crush.
Went to a good talk on Thurs about Keider houses, woodland crofts & forestry - love the SCF talks - always get good speakers.
Must crash.....

Yes, it was me! Lovely video, thanks for that, they really have a wonderful bond from the looks of things.
Interestingly, I was talking to a friend at work yesterday (proper friend, not one who I'm just friendly with out of politeness, office politics you know blah blah blah) and she said she's always wanted a horse. She doesn't have anywhere to keep one (with a lottery win she'd have a stud farm) so I mentioned the possibility of a share once we've moved, if we have enough land and it's suitable. It's definitely something I'd consider because it'd be someone else to go halves on the bills. My friend hasn't ridden since 2004 and I haven't since 2006, so I'm going to look out for a decent deal on Groupon or something where we can have a few lessons together. I've seen something which would do but it's all the way down into Kent and my friend lives the other side of the river so I'd probably have to look at Essex.

just tell us gossip.......we are easily pleased !;) :rotfl::rotfl:
OK you asked for it, not sure its relevant for this thread, but here goes.
DS1 walked out of his job just over 6 weeks ago, we were fuming but he pointed out its his life and he hadn't been happy for a while. He's got another job and still doing his agricultural apprenticeship and has been approached by somebody else to go and work for him. As he said its his life. Failed his theory test for the third time (muppet), getting fed up of taking him and told him he can sort it out himself and catch the bus as it is his life.
DD1 is still fund raising for her Thailand trip, unfortunately a big fundraiser got cancelled. The local last big show didn't go ahead as the field was too soggy. She has got a couple of events but is struggling. She has been gardening all summer and insists when she has a house she's getting a gardener!:rotfl:
DS2 is raising his turkeys, he's got 10 and sold 4 so far:eek:I'm starting to panic a little bit as I was against having so many. I do have a spare chest freezer. His dad has given him a ride-on lawnmower that he got for nothing so he's making it into a racing mower.
DD2 is busy being a girlie girl:T
My lovely sister and BIL bought me a car for my big birthday starting with a 4 and ending in a 0. I've got the car even though the dreaded event hasn't happened yet, not long to go and I plan to spend the day hiding under the duvet:rotfl:
OHs business has gone quiet, which is only to be expected. We've taken the decision to close on Thursdays, which lets OH go and tout for trade and do his servicing work on golf clubs, caravan parks etc.
Hoping with a lot of belt tightening we'll be debt free by March.
Here endeth the sermon.:rotfl:

why not leave the details with the people behind those house move tv programmes ?:D
move to the country ? something like that. they often have people who want a business potential place ????
cant lose anything can you ?
IF they chose it ,it would give you free air time whatever ...
There's no problem with interest, alfie. People either can't sell their own houses to free up cash or can't get mortgages.
The issue is mainly lenders not giving mortgages on mixed (residential & business properties) &, to a lesser degree, people being wary of fuel costs & so on so not buying places further than a short step from town, on bus routes etc.
To get around the first problem we could gut the last remaining cottage & sell as residential only but there's no getting round the second.
 You wouldn't get me or my place anywhere near any TV reality show. Most of those people looking for places don't seem to have any intention of actually buying anywhere but, obviously, want to be on TV.

The mortgage issue won't bother cash buyers though......and they from what people I know who are property finders and high end agents tell me, are buying still.
In fact, my neighbours at the other house sold to cash buyers who bid half a million over asking price to avoid a bidding war and then sold two years later to the people they were bidding against making a small loss I believe but have not actually heard from a horses mouth.
Cash buyers won't be troubled.0 -
lir............buyer has JUST gone...:(
it sort of fell apart a bit when we shifted it.. took some talking to get him to take it... i did point out that it fitted the description i had written tho...BUT i did take it off ebay which could have sunk me but i took a reduced price...still good for a skip find !!;)
