  • its calm a bit now, but when I say calm, I mean its not quite as bad...

Agree with you ITSME.. best place to be is inside,, I am heading home now, think I might phone hubby to get some chips on the way home, so we can have pork and chips for tea...cant be !!!!!d to cook tonight...

Please everyone take care out there, dont go out unless you REALLY need to.

I have heard from customers the roads are pants, drains are just pushed up by the force of the water..

I think we are through the worst of it here. Went out 5 minutes ago and it was both dry and calm. :)

We had the rain when you predicted, Itsme, just as the wind eased. A couple of hours heavy stuff, but we may have got away with it in this neck of the woods.

Alfie......do you have any fairly shallow sinks hanging around?

I don"t want to cut into the alter or drawers in the kichen to sink a sink, but need water in the kitchen, I was think a shallow sink could sit on top and drain between them. Not sure how taps would work mind you!
  • they have given us a clear day tody, with no or very little rain, BUT rain back tomorrow, sunday, monday..

    cold though..

    been having horrible news lately,

4... now the above's friends nephew, ( who is only 20) cancer has come back with force, and is in his chest some organs etc
, losing weight drastically.... such a nice gentle giant.

Same here. Three funerals & a wedding, as I said a week or two ago. Last one as young as DW. Suddenly, we have no relatives in Wales...:(

The wedding was OK though. :D

I have already put 2012 down as the 'dreckly' year. We should have quite a lot planned and in the pipeline by December 31st, which we'll get to....dreckly. :o

Sorry to hear you've been having a succession of bad news, CTC & Dave.

Sunny but sodden here this morning.
Unfortunately, the weekend has more rain & gales forecast :( but a bit of a respite today.

LIR - I think what you want is a French sink

:D Dave. You grew up in Devon. You should know that every year is dreckly.
It's part of the laid back life that people want to move down to share but so often drives them mad when they're here :rotfl:

    hi all..........

sounds like you are having a "swimmingly good time " , ok yah :D

we got torrential rain last night...weird day yesterday in that one minute it was sunny/calm the next high winds that bent trees and sounded like a steam tractor going past !

im just waiting for the 2 dead trees on my boundary to fall.......then i can say "i told you so" to the jumped up arseimog of an agent...:D as long as they dont fall my way..:o

farrier came today, managed to get 4 done without a hernia attatched via sliding across mud to catch something knee high to a grasshopper !! the other 2 will be on the 5th...
"ruby two shoes" is almost there, i encourage her to stand beside farrier as he works. she is soooo good with me handling her now.:) but dont want to rush her....she's a female....;)

i am off to see ma and pa as they had to have thier dog put to sleep on wednesday.:( she was 14 but suddenly lost control of the end.... they have always believed in not letting an animal prolong its discomfort for thier benefit. she went peacefully at home. dad is the one im worried about as she was his lifeline to keeping active and he has just got better after his last "turn"....

i have the chap coming tomorow to collect the unit.
other furniture has sold/selling well which surpises me as i didnt think thats what people would buy so close to crimble....

LIR, i am on to it ;) cant promise but bells are a ringin :D
anything else ? whilst im asssss up in the big shed :rotfl::rotfl:
  • I thought we wernt going to get any rain today, but its been raining on and off, its 'cold' rain, not quite sleet, but not hail stones either:rotfl:

I am apologising now:p as I know over the coming weeks my stress levels will be going off the scales, so god knows what i will be babbling on about, it might seem confusing, but trust me its something I can not go into on a public forum... with the news we had yesturday about the young 20 year old lad, just put things into pospective sp? and with other things happening at mo, I just said balls to it....life is too short to be constantly stressed out.

and NO I am not pregnant:p:eek::p
