Wow! The trousers are almost as expensive as the machine, but I do not want to skimp on the protection of my fella's legs - I'm rather fond of his limbs.

He's 6'3" and quite slim, so a try out is probably essential. As you say, Swansea is probably our nearest. It was a novelty to go "clothes shopping" (this involved exchanging the gorgeous but entirely impractical birthday outfits in white linen, that a generous relative had bought our girls, for dark coloured leggings and joggers) when we went there in the week to get the Van serviced at the VW centre (we're still under warranty). It's a different world. I'd already forgotten about it. What strange garbs people wear :D

Here's the Husqvarna page from MVF. It will give you an idea of the sorts of things necessary, rozee.
Of course, if you become a member of these sort of co-operatives you get a discount.

The only protective thins hubby wears while weelding his chainsaw around the place is his safety boots and glasses...

I had a go at using the chainsaw, it was cool:D but i did say i couldnt manage it, so hubby had to finish off cutting the dead trees down;):D

Still feeling out of sorts, but this afternoon i started sneezing, ( thought it was the dust, as i started sorting out a pile of vintage clothes/ linen to see what was worth keeping and what was too damaged etc), but i am still sneezing.. but i am still going to go to auction tomorrow:D I dont want to miss a bargin

Make sure you batton down the hatches on the hatches for sunday... :rotfl: as the weather is def:eek::eek: think they are giving naff weather for the rest of the week..

Cant do much in the new place.... due to the weather, but at the mo maybe it is a good thing, so we are thinking more on ideas and realities of things......

We are going to have to flood the field tomorrow because otherwise the pump house of the cake will flood. Horrid to waste water, but, no other choice at this stage i think. If only we new it would stop soon we could leave it to water with after it had stopped for a really good grass crop, as it is, the flood will go into the ditch and flow away somewhere else.

Also intersting to see that the less productive land when we first arrived, that was only very lightly grazed last year, is up and away with the rain now, much better than the more heavily grazed and more productive land, which is also looking astoundingly good for something grazed all winter and into spring.

This morning i looked and thought we had gained about half a foot, dh looked this evening and thinks more, he remided me how much we emptied last weekend, and thinks nearer three quarters of a foot or so. Emptying thats about half a week or so with the pump on i think.

If he wants to go on courses, the full leg protection is needed, not what they call 'chaps.' This is because, despite precautions, someone else might get behind you with a running chain saw....!

We had hail today & a blinding headache each - funny air pressure we think. The tops have another dusting of snow further North. Managed to get a bit done outdoors but my back seems to have packed in again & is hopeless & quite agony now.

Free listing again this weekend so took some photos when it cleared up later on.

    Alfie you sound very busy.

Last day to buy cheap stamps tomorrow I think - I don't know if I could face the Gorgon at the PO in the morning - although should grit my teeth & go I suppose......wear a crucifix....garlic........lightening conductor strapped to my head........? Send Mr Choille instead? Now that's a much better idea.

Yes, it's the low pressure that gets to your head. I hate it. If it's blowing a gale at night I'm usually up because laying down feels like I've got a ton weight on my head :( Same sort of problem that means I can't fly.

Well only managed to list 5 things this evening & feel pretty jiggered now.

Forecast looks like you lot at the bottom & middle bit are getting what we've had for months now - batten down them hatches.

    Nighty night.
