Hmmm, car booting first thing tomorrow, still thawing out after an outside auction today. Thermals and windproofs needed I think.
Was going to take some garden related stuff but wont bother, people just wont be in the mood (if they turn up at all). The saving grace is thats its undercover and my pitch stays dry.
DS1 home next week after flying from Antipodes, with G/F following later in week, so its fatted calf time and family get together0 -
Most carboot sales have been cancelled around here. even the beaulieu boat jumble has been cancelled ...1 st time ive known of for donkey years !! they must have lost a fortune cancelling if they have to refund pitch money etc ...its an international do.....
i had a chap i know call by T time on a very old BSM motorbike ?? i heard him coming up the road half a mile away.. trouble is he stopped for a chat by the gate and ...YEP ! wouldnt start again...:( apparently it had been in storage for 23 yrs and he used to ride it to "School" in london... and hed just spent the last week fixing it.
so he put it in my shed and i gave him a lift home. i dropped him off and i got stopped by 3 old dears in a little car.hed gone indoors so i was left to the "wolves"....they had me trapped in the lane and started to berate me !! "know assure us he is not going to be driving up and down in that infernal contraption keeping us awake all night AGAIN ..."etc :rotfl::rotfl: i darent speak as i was bottling up howls of laughter... thier little faces peering out the windows looked like a Little Britain sketch..
i eventually said in answer to that question..."ooo i dont think so" knowing full well the bike was going nowhere..:rotfl::rotfl:
i love it when random things happen..:D as long as i have one good laugh a day, im happy...0 -
Did you find anything nice at the outside auction Rhiwie?
Well today was a bit disappointing.... not much crap..ooopps i mean usefull but maybe not needed items:rotfl: on the field today.... but did manage to buy 2 little tables and a wooden stool for £7.
There were some roslings for sale.. we stayed clear of some of the batches ( certain dealer;)) and then there were 2 lots of tolouse goslings ( 2 in each batch) hubby bidded up to £15 each fro the first lot, but i gave him the eye to stop, so we didnt win that lot, and thankfully the winner didnt want the option of the second lot, so so we won then for £10 each:beer: They were suposed to be off heat, but no way... they are now in one of the sheds( with run attached) with a heat lamp on them... they are a bit manky in places,, ( looks as though they have been plucking/pecking each other) so we called in our local agri merchant... and they have given us a pigeon wormer/parisite killer, basically put 2 drops on the back of the neck... it has 'mr Ifor mectin':D:D in it... havent got the bottle with me by the computer, but will give you the info tomorrow.... once they have settled in i will give them a dose.... just incase they have got something...
oooo ye i was also trying to dodge the film cameras too, as there was the s4c film crew there filming the auctions etc....
right off to get some sleep as i am totally pooped tonight....Work to live= not live to work0 -
We are having some real strong gusts of wind... I heard one of our tiles sliding down the roof last night....( we had a load of loose ones) havent gone out yet to have a look...
I think the best place to be today is indoors... but will need to go out later...
Rozee did you say you have been to Synod Inn auction on a friday? we got told to go there again yesturday, supposed to be really cheap there... It would take us nearly 2 hours to get there, plus a Friday afternoon off work.. If you have been, thought you might be able to tell me how big it is? what do they sell? what type of prices etc?
The stuff i have got to do the goslings is
Harkers 'harka-mectin' spot on endectocide....
by all accounts it is also very good for getting rid of spidermites on your wackybacky plants:eek::rotfl:
http://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/showthread.php?33091-Spidermites-try-this
( found it when i googled the product)
will take some pics later, to show you where they have lost their feathers and down ( to be honest they were in a small box with straw, so hubby couldnt see them that well, so didnt notice it, plus he didnt have his glasses on lol)Work to live= not live to work0 -
Pump a pumping water on to a field now, pump house was very very close to flooding, Field is not too bad though, flooded but firm underfoot underthat. Buttercup is rife though.
.
No significant damage. Have to repair fence from earlier in the week, and patch up some other minor holes. After that will be huddling inside till time to feed again. What else can one do?
Have thought of giving the horses a huge bucket of chaff each, to lifty their spirits a little.0 -
sounds as though you got it really rough there LIR....
Do you know what time it suposed to be easing off? or is it for most of the day/night?
PLEASE... PLEASE.... everyone be carefull, and dont go out unless you really do need to....
I need to send hubby to get some milk and bread, and unless we get a phone call to meet someone up the new place, we are firmly keeping our butts on the sofa...:rotfl:
Edit..... hope our mr & mrs rhiwie is ok, doing a bootsale this morning...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Tbh, i think we got off lightly more wet than anything else. The wind was worse earlier in the week, particularly the night i had to get the horses in at four am!
Most frustrating is that we collected our sit on lawn mower gift, and cannot use it because of the weather. Ok, we used it a little. My eccentricity has been wratcheted up a gear when people drove past me riding along in my drizabone, with headohones on, mowing in the rain, No more, but just had to r

why do i have visions of a lady sitting on a lawn mower with a long ballgown type dress with a wax coat on and big huge ear muff type ear phones and over -sized wellies on:rotfl:
I allways say boogger what other people think...Work to live= not live to work0 -

The weather is unreal here. Aboslutely chucking it down and windy with it. Poor Oh has still gone out with the girls though. It's never been possible to get them asleep together for any length in the house and he usually enjoys his daily walk.0 -
